“Great value-for-money stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2011

Excellent hotel, great location (right next to the Asakusa-bashi station, which is 2 stations away from Tokyo station) for a really competetive price. Clean and modern rooms, fast lift, very friendly and helpful personnel, free washing machine and dryer.

Aboslute best value for a budget stay in Tokyo!
Tokyo is such a sprawling city that it's hard to decide where to stay so not too far from the sights. MyStays Asakusa-bashi was spot-on for us. It is within a minutes walk of both a JR and Subway line, and a 15min stroll from Akihabara.
**only down-side of being so close to the above-ground JR line, was that the station announcements were clearly audible. A little disrupting to the early morning peace...

HOWEVER... everything else about this hotel was 5 star plus! It was CHEAPER than accomodation in Osaka.
The hotel is about 18months old; so a very modern/ new decor inside. The rooms are standard japanese business hotel size, small to westerners, but honestly, there is more than enough space. LOVED the ergonomic pillows (reminds me I need a new one at home!). As will all japanese business hotels, large dispensers of body soap, shampoo, conditioner in bathrooms; as well as toothpaste/ toothbrush. Slippers for wear in the room and yukata (japanese pyjamas).

One weird point is that the corridors are open at the ends!

I was extremely impressed that all of the staff we encountered at the front desk spoke a great level of english. My father met one that was very keen to chat and practice. We are in JAPAN where the national language is JAPANESE, so I do not expect native level english.
The hotel had printed information about the hotel in english, and also a map of the local area (restaurants/ atms/ convenience stores).

The Dotour Cafe nearby was perfect for a morning coffee, convience stores in japan sell all you might need for a self catered breakfast. and many cafes have great 'morning sets' (coffee and toast etc).

Highly recommend staying here. Excellent clean, modern, value rooms.

East facing rooms have a brilliant view of the Tokyo Sky Tree, 634m high tower being built that opens in 2012

**we felt several large aftershocks while staying at the hotel. Our rooms were on the 10th floor, so it is important to understand and note that modern japanese buildings are built on 'shock absorbers' that are meant to move in earthquakes. So we felt quite large movements; aboslutely safe, though a little unnerving!

Thank you for choosing MystaysInn Asakusabashi, and also giving us feedback.
After 3.11, there were a lot of aftershock, but there is nothing to worry about because this hotel constructed with earthquake-resistance.
Asakusabashi has good access to go popular area for foreigners such as Akihabara and Asakusa. We also provide local maps. Feel free to ask front staff about maps and any other questions.
You can buy the pillow you liked for 5000 yen, if you would like to get one to your home.
Also the air conditioner is available in each room beside kimono, slipper and so on.
Again thank you for choosing this hotel to stay, and giving us a feedback.
We are looking forward to seeing you again when you visit to Japan.

Thank you and best regards,

We arrived late in the evening at the hotel (around 23u00), but that was not a problem for the two friendly people at the front desk. We were checked in within minutes, and were presented all kinds of toilet accessoires free of charge. The man who helped was fluent in English. We had a room on the 11th floor, and had a view over the Tokyo skyline. The room was on the small side, but in Tokyo that seems to be standard. The slippers greeted us at the door, accompanied by two kimono's. The bed was quite firm, with two different pillows (one normal & one ergonomic). All lights in the room had a button on the bed, alongside with a clockradio. Also in the room: AC, humidifier, safe, fridge, LCD TV with Digital Broadcast and free Internet with a cable. The bathroom was not so big, but had everything you'll need. Sink, toilet & bath with shower. Toothbrush, soap & shampoo were all there, and daily change of towels if you want. Roomservice was perfect. Further to find in the hotel: Free laundry machines, video rental & 24h store on the groundfloor.
Hotel location in a very quite neighbourhood, with countless shops, restaurants & cafe's. Almost adjacent to the JR trains & Tokyo Metro (Asakusabashi stop), which will get you to every POI in less then 30 minutes.
The only point of critisism might be that some of the staff don't speak English or just a couple words. If you speak Japanese, that might come in handy.

We were in Japan when the big earthquake hit, and were not able to make it back into Tokyo from a day trip to Kamakura. When we arrived back in Tokyo the day after, we had several aftershocks, but all buildings in Japan are adapted to that, and the staff gladly answered all our questions.

You said you stayed in Japan on 3.11, did you get injured?
Our hotel constructed with earthquake-resistant, so nothing worry about it.
We are so glad that you were able to stay here comfortably.
Skytree is now 364m, and it will take only 10 month to be completed and see the gorgeous illumination.
Trouser presser is also available in each room beside TV, fridge and so on.
Finally, thank you again for staying here and giving a feedback.
We are looking forward to seeing you staying here when you visit Japan.

Stayed here our first night in Tokyo. Very well located about 2 minutes (or less) walk from the Asakusabashi train station. Plus....we could use our JR passes to get to this station (JR Sobu line). The room was very fairly priced, small but clean, comfortable beds..we slept like babies. The staff extra friendly, limited English on their part, limited Japanese on ours, but we managed to communicate. The only negative about this hotel is there's no breakfast, however, adjacent to the hotel is a Lawsons so we bought what we needed for the next morning there. Unfortunately they were fully booked on our return trip to Tokyo, but we'd have been more than happy to stay here again.

Thank you for choosing MystaysInn Asakusabashi.
This hotel is only a minute away from JR Asakusabashi station, which is easy to access where many guests want to visit. There are maps of local restaurants, JR, and subways at the front desk. Feel free to ask staffs. The bed is a product of Sarta which many guests also love. Unfortunately we have no restaurants in the hotel, therefore we recommend you to buy foods at the convenience store “Lawson” which 24 hours opens. We will looking forward to seeing you again when you come back to Japan.
Thank you for your feedback.

This hotel was in a pretty good location for what I wanted to do, which was spend a decent amount of time in Akihabara and stay at a clean hotel. The main reason this hotel appealed to me was the fact that it was close to the JR station. But, alas, it was too close. It's a 45 second walk from the exit to the front door. That's very nice, but when it comes time to sleep though, you can hear the trains and the station announcements slightly. If you're the type of person who has to have silence to sleep, then it MIGHT bother you. You won't find too much around Asakusabashi, but you can still walk around and see small restaurants and apartment/condos.

They have free LAN internet with cable provided and a Lawson's convenience store connected in the lobby so you don't even have to go outside to get to it. The room and bathroom were very clean and had VERY slightly more room than other single room hotels.

I paid 6300 yen a night when I stayed there and it was kind of worth it. Slightly expensive but worth it for the location and clean rooms. The staff can speak very little English. Enough to get by.

Thank you for choosing our hotel. As you said, this hotel is only 1 minute away from Asakusabashi station. We apologize you for station announcements bothering you because of the structural matter, but we will be very happy if the room makes you relaxed just like home. Asakusabashi is only 1 station away from Akihabara and Ryogoku, and only 2 stations away from Asakusa, which is very convenient location. We also have map of JR, subway, and restaurants around here which are all free. Also air purifier and trouser presser besides internet cable are available in a room.
We are trying to provide as great service as we can, and looking forward seeing you again.
Thank you for your feedback.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 October 2010

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in mid-September. We were a bit annoyed at first because we arrived 1 or 2 hours before check-in time and were not allowed to go to our room. We left our luggage with the front desk staff and when we came back in the evening, they had brought our suitcases and bags to our room, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff was always very courteous and enthusiastic. The Lawson and laundry room were very convenient. The room was fantastic: looked exactly like the promotional photos, therapeutic pillows, good sound isolation (although you can hear the announcements from Asakusabashi station in the corridor), fast internet and relatively large bathroom with anti-steam mirror. We had a double bed ("double B" room) and it was comfortable, but it might be a bit small for people who need a lot of space.

It is super close to JR Asakusabashi station (we had JR passes, so we always took this one), but depending on where you want to go, you will most likely need more than 1 transfer. We never found this particularly annoying, but some people may think otherwise.

We will definitely go back next time we're in Tokyo.

This is a business hotel so I came in without high expectations, but came away thoroughly impressed.

This newly built hotel is super close to the Asakusa-bashi station. From the station, you can catch direct trains to Akihabara, Ryougoku and Asakusa. You can sometimes hear the station platform announcements which may be troubling to some.

The front desk staff are very helpful. Some are not perfectly fluent in English, but it was no obstacle in getting my requests fulfilled.

The rooms are smartly furnished with semi-double bed, desk, refrigerator and free wired internet. It is 40% roomier than the business hotels I stayed at 5 years ago.

There is a convenience store on the ground floor and a free self-service laundry facility. The latter is a great boon for travelers on an extended stay. There is no on-site restaurant or room service, but there are many restaurants near the train station.
