“Awesome place to stay for everyone!”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

This hotel is about a 7 minute walk from Minami-senju station after exiting from the south exit. The path en-route is rough so be sure your luggage wheels are oiled! Bright red bikes for rent, 3 vending machines and wooden tables and chairs mark where the entrance is just ahead. Upon entering, you're greeted and promptly asked if you'll be staying today. The receptionist explains their services available and I must recommend checking out the view of Tokyo Skytree from the 7th floor at night. The single rooms are just the right size but you might find a bit of a squeeze in the bunk bed rooms. The hotel is equipped with 4 washing machines (200 yen) and dryers (100 yen) if you wish to do laundry. Bring hangers if you do! The kitchen area is shared by everyone, appropriately supplied with condiments, coffee, tea, utensils etc. 2 Macs are available for use free of charge! 7-11 and Lawsons are nearby if you feel hungry at night. Make sure to get there before 0000hrs or you'll find yourself standing outside a locked front door with no way to check-in. The key you get upon check in allows access to the back door after 0000hrs. Every floor has a common toilet and 3 shower rooms (with doors of course) and one for females if you aren't comfortable with using the common. Wi-Fi is available throughout the building F.O.C.

Spent just under 3 weeks at palace japan and would go again courtesy of price, cleanliness and friendly informative staff. Beds as noted were a little hard but did not stop an enjoyable trip. Maps and information found in the hall way with own catering just beyond the living area. Just across the road was a local supermarket and there are 3 vending machines in the smoking area. Only an 8 minute walk to the train station and free WiFi. By the 3rd week it was a home away from home... recommend.

The hotel was really cold but it was not an issue inside the rooms as the a/c also had a heating mode. Another thing that was cold was the atmosphere - there were almost no people in the common areas and the ones that were there were japanese. Beds were really hard but the staff was friendly and spoke english. You can pay with credit cards.

Although room is small but it is cosy and most importantly affordable. Place is very clean. Friendly staff, one lady even accompanied us all the way to 7Eleven to help us purchase Disneyland tickets because we are not able to key in our names in the machine in Japanese. Would definitely stay there again.

I spent here my first night in Japan, and it was a great choice. The hotel is very well located, not far from 2 subway stations and within walking distance of the Asakusa area.
The friendliness of the staff was incredible, and the whole hotel was extremely clean. The only minus is that our room had a bunk bed, which is not ideal for a couple.

This hotel was ok if not very small (you get what you pay for). I wouldn't recommend this location as a base for your stay in Tokyo. Spend a bit more to be central as you are looking at about an hour train trip to visit the Tokyo sights. We had to leave the window open so it was fairly noisy as the air-conditioner gave out a horrible smell (Reception was closed so unable to bring up the problem). The staff were friendly and you got what you paid for, if only this was in a better location!!!

We stayed here for 3 nights during the Tokyo leg of our Japan tour. The place is easily accessible by foot from the Minami Senju subway station. Asakusa shrine and Tokyo tower is nearby.
Small (hard to find big rooms in Tokyo unless you spend a bomb) but very clean and well maintained rooms. There is a common kitchen available for use by fellow travellers. A 7-eleven and a supermarket right opposite to the hotel. At about 6000 yen per day, it was cheap by Tokyo standards.
