Sensoji temple is one of the must-go to attractions when visiting Asakusa. It's the oldest temple in all of Tokyo. It starts with a massive gate in front with the two guardians in front protecting the temple. A few relics line this gate including a traveler's sandal you touch for good luck in your travels.
After a street lined with tons of markets with souvenirs and food lead the way to the main temple. This is a good chance to get some souvenirs for your loved ones back at home. Some places were more expensive than others, so be on the look out.
The main temple was a big beautiful Japanese Buddhist style red temple with a pagoda nearby. An incense well nearby allows you to bath in the smoke of temple for good fortune. You can pray, make wishes, or donations, and take tons of pictures with.
If you have a chance, visit the Shinto shrine just nearby the temple to see the other common Japanese religion. It might be a little quieter.
