Traveled with a group for business for a few nights.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Rooms are clean and well maintained. Quality product in the bath.
Not sure about the pillow which seemed to be half-filled with beads?

The biggest struggle I had was in the common areas of the hotel (Lobby and hallways) which wreaked of stale cigarette smoke circa 1985. If you do not smoke, have a weak stomach, or have asthma this is not the place for you.

Overall, for a budget accommodation it ticks a lot of boxes including the Starbucks and 7-11 a few doors down.

The location of this property is awesome, beside a 7/11 and close to Starbucks, but more importantly close to an awesome Shrine, and market in the daytime, and the famous Sky Tree! Also the rooms are comfortable, great bedding, and awesome product in the bathroom. Thank you for making my stay very easy and awesome. They also hold your bags and since no one steals in Japan you can feel safe leaving your bags in the front while you carry on with your travels. My wifi was intermittent and it only works in some rooms, so if you really need it in your room this can be tricky.

I stayed at the Sunroute Asakusa for a few nights in May. This hotel has good location with a nearby metro station and a 7eleven convenient store. It is within 30min subway ride of most Tokyo attractions. One of Tokyo’s famous temple is within 5min walk as well. Rooms are small but clean and with all the necessary amenities (no ironing board though).

This hotel served as the "home base" for our stays in Tokyo as well as the tour we did in Japan. It was a great location for this purpose because it was right by the Tokyo metro station Tawaramichi. You could easily connect to the JR trains at Ueno by taking the Ginza line to get to the airport, many of the popular sites, and Tokyo station to take the Shinkansen to other parts of Japan. The immediate location had many, many restaurants and shopping areas to look at if you didn't want to go far as well as a temple nearby for a great evening stroll when lit up. There was also a 24hr restaurant in the hotel if you are getting over jetlag but you're surrounded by convenience stores too.

The rooms were tight but we weren't planning to use them for more than showering and sleeping. The washrooms came complete with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, razors, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, and robes for sleeping. The hotel is designed for a stay without need for any luggage. It was very convenient. The beds and pillows were comfortable for someone who's used to western beds and there was a television if you wanted to catch a few Japanese game shows before bed.

The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. I was helped with temporary baggage storage from 1 hour to 1 week of storage, printing out my boarding passes on the business computers, checking my email, and booking dinners at popular restaurants. I was very please with the helpfulness of the staff.

If you're planning to stay in Tokyo for sightseeing, this is the place for you. If you're planning to stay in Tokyo for a mix of sightseeing and hotel relaxation, you may need a different hotel.

Room Tip: Be careful to request a non-smoking room if you need it. All rooms are by default smoking. There are...

Stayed here for our first night in Tokyo. It's a pretty average Japanese business hotel - matchbox sized rooms, excellent staff and service, adequate breakfast in the next door restaurant Jonathan's. The hotel has wifi but only in the lobby, which is small. The main benefit is the location. Asakusa is a lovely district and much less frenetic than other parts of Tokyo which makes it a good introduction to the city. Plenty of good places to eat nearby, a beautiful shrine to visit and the hotel is right by a subway station on the Ginza line giving superb access to the rest of the city. We stayed in better Sunroute hotels in Japan, particularly the one in Shinjuku later, but I preferred this area.

Room Tip: ask for one at the back of the hotel - quieter

Room was the size you expect from a Japanese hotel – bigger than you fear, but not what you might hope for.
The hotel breakfast was well priced and the western breakfast was quite acceptable (apart from the coffee of course – this is Japan). On the other hand the service & staff were wonderful – again, this is Japan.
The location worked much better than I expected – very easy to get get around town & lots of local restaurants. I'd definitely stay in the area next time & I'd be happy too go back to this hotel.

Helpful staff who spoke some English on check-in, (typically) small but clean and well air-conditioned room. Restaurant very average - better options in the surrounding neighbourhood. Very well placed to explore Asakusa, Senso-Ji temple, and good links to public transport.
