Located right on Sumida River. Less than 30 minute walk to Tokyo Sky Tree. Very near the metro system. Stayed 2 nights, 3 days...great value. I did a lot of sightseeing in Tokyo and the location was perfect with Asakusa Station up the block.

I was about to stay in this hostel for 1 night before moving on to the next destination, as I need to depart from Tobu Asakusa station, this hostel was my choice for 1 night stay.

This is my first time to stay in such kind of hostel in Japan, I would say this is not bad, it's only a bit old and the room is small, but with a price lower than capsule hotel, there's nothing to complain.

Shared toilet and common room is normal, and you would be able to make new friends as well!!

Unlike those capsules, which normally occupied by some local people who missed last train back home, this hostel mainly occupied by backpackers, and therefore the hostel staff can speak English pretty well.

My friends and I rested in 4 beds privated room on 13, 17-18, 20 April 2013.
Room is very small but clean. We can open only 2 luggages at the same time.
There are 3 shower rooms, 4 toilets, kitchen, living room and store-room.

We found 2 staffs here. They are very nice.

When we checked in here, we got coupons for free SaKi drinks.
Plum Saki is good taste. We love it.

This hostel is near Metro, Toei and Tobu line.
It is convenient to go to Narita Airport by Toei line. (Pay 1,240 yen For Direct Airport).

Room Tip: 3 floors is difficult to raise your luggages. There are only 2 toilets at 3 floors. 2 floors is eas...

During my 3 week trip to Japan I've stayed at four different hotels in the Khaosan Group, Three in Tokyo and one in Kyoto.

This hostel is the oldest in the Group (the original) and has a great location near transport hub Asakusa, Senso-ji temple, Sumo museum, shops, restaurants and you name it. The facilities are a bit worn and the hostel feels somewhat cramped. Staff was friendly though.

All the other Khaosans I've stayed at are worth a rating of 4-5, this one however a little closer 3 than 4. As compared to other hostels of course. But it certainly isn't a bad place to stay.

The room is small especially for twin room but the location is truly excellent. It is very near to 3 lines (Asakusa Line, Ginza Line and Tobu Nikko Lines). From subway, only 3 stops to Ueno Park, and only 2 stops to Tokyo Sky Tree. Also, walkable to Sumida Park and Ferry terminal for Himiko water bus. Sensoji temple is also very near. The place in Tokyo for cheap souviner. The staff were also very helpful and can converse in English quite well.

I stayed here for 7 nights in a 4-bed mixed dorm room in December. The location is excellent, right next to the Sumida River and close to the Asakusa train station (junction for two different lines). It was very easy to get to places from this hostel. Bike hire for 200 yen per day nearby was also excellent value.

The room was comfortable and clean with good heating. There were lockers provided as well as a curtain and bedlight. The shower facilities however were not great and were quite old. Shampoo and Soap was provided, but the facilities were not in good condition.

Unlike other Khaosan hostels, this hostel did not have a very big common area. This was probably the big downside of the property - the lounge/tv/kitchen area was small and cramped. It was hard to do much in the area without being a hindrance to everyone else trying to use the area. The staff were really nice however and I recommend this place for the good location and cheap price.

we were staying at k house oasis but we fund out there were no availability for the next three days. it was new years eve, everything was fuly booked. we found this cheap hostel near us, in asakusa. good opinion on the internet so, let's do it.
the girl at the reception speaks in english and she is nice, the place looks small, but it was ok. typical small hostel for backpackers. we spent the day outside and only during the night we entered our room.
the fact is, it was not a room.
it was a fridge cell. there was a double decker bed (and we knew it, no big deal) and that's it. i mean, the room WAS the bed. our luggage were occupying the rest of the space available. more than this it was freezing. when we tried to use the air conditioning it wasn't working. or at least, it was working but we didn't know how to set it. it was in japanese. the girl at the reception, once again, was kind giving us a small heater.
we stayed there 3 nights. we are not snob, we are backpackers, but you have to consider that the place was really really small and if you're a couple i would reccomend to look for another place.
