The fact that places like The Bakehouse still exist in England is extremely reassuring, when so much of England these days has changed for the worse. Castle Cary itself is a very pleasant place, and The Bakehouse is one of many small businesses in this charming market town.
The Bakehouse is run by a middle-aged Englishman and his Thai wife, in a very friendly and welcoming manner. The premises are immaculately clean, well-furnished and tastefully-decorated. I like to judge a restaurant or cafe by the state of its toilet(s) - those here do not disappoint and are maintained in excellent condition.
I won’t dwell on the food and drink offerings available; suffice it to say everything myself and my colleagues have had during our last three visits has been fine.
The Bakehouse appears to be quite popular with locals, understandably so. It is worthy of your custom, you will not be disappointed.
