We went here for a recent family celebration, significant birthday, and had lots of people attending. Haven't been here in a long time so I could see the immediate differences and improvements. Great views from the large, open, spacious veranda.
Parents can handily let kids play in play area whilst having a drink knowing they are safe and cannot leave the hotel.
Great on a sunny day although covered so could still sit out if it was raining.
Bar area large and tastefully decorated. Service was a little slow however we are at the seaside and it was at a more relaxed pace.
We had a private room for the tea.
Positives - plenty of food, scones, tarts, sandwiches, tea and coffee. Staff helpful and able to bring out more supplies for the kids.
If you want high end cream tea this is not the place for it although I doubt there is many, local alternatives. Portions are ample not dainty, tea and coffee was in pump dispensers however it was catering for the masses so I thought that was very reasonable for the very fair price and the food.
Special mention goes to the chocolate and lemon tarts - delicious.
I would definitely go back again for a drink and a meal. The family said the food was good, tasty and great value. Very good venue for the area where options can be a little limited.More
