“Beautiful Beach”
Reviewed 12 June 2013 via mobile

We stopped here early one evening whilst on holiday in the area. Our little boy wanted to go to the beach to "see dolphins" (we knew that wasn't gonna happen, but hey, a run on the beach would tire him out nicely for bedtime!) As we pulled up on the seafront road, which was all unrestricted/free btw, there was a lovely new-looking play area in the theme of an old ship, set in soft, clean sand. Our little boy absolutely loved it, we had to drag him away from it! Then we walked on the beach - it has beautiful soft sand :) and is so clean & tidy. We went to dip our toes in the sea, it was a lovely end to our first full-day on holiday. The Yaught pond is a lovely idea & I'm sure the paddling pool is popular in high season. Would definitely go back :)

“Clean sandy beach”
Reviewed 10 June 2013

Loved this beach even though it was cold and blowy it was so clean and safe for children as life guards on hand, very old fashioned sea side place, the pier hotel is the ideal place to stay to look over the beach what ever time of the year family owned and they all work hard to make it nice for you, go there for a drink or meal you dont have to stay there to enjoy it !

“delightful sandy beach with all you need in walking distance”
Reviewed 10 June 2013

Despite it being a cold and windy Sunday morning there were still lots of people around on Gorleston Beach. We went for a walk along the prom and back after having a delicious full english at the Cliff Hotel where we had stayed the night before and thought we had better have a brisk walk to burn some of it off! There are lots of parking places and benches to sit on along the prom to watch the world go by and loos and sufficient shops and cafes to buy all you need for the day without the normal attractions, (distractions!) of other nearby seaside towns. The sandy beach is flat and safe for old and young alike. My only disappointment is that only a small section of it is prohibited to dogs during the summer season which I could see as a disadvantage if it was to be really busy as people would have to venture onto a part where dogs may have been to the toilet!

“Absolutely stunning”
Reviewed 7 June 2013

Stayed in Gorleston for the first time on a huge family holiday. The beach is stunning, huge and flat and spotlessly clean. You can even build sandcastles. There is a lifeguard on duty during the day so if you were inclined to swim somebody could rescue you. We were there in May and the sea was very cold even for a paddle. There is a boating lake...not for rowers but for remote controlled boats, great to watch men( yes all were men) control their miniature jet skis racing around boy racer style...Best of all building a sandcastle is free.

“Golden sandy at Gorlstone beach”
Reviewed 5 June 2013

Such a lovely child friendly beach, everything you need, toilets, fish and chips, ice cream, but best of all is the golden sands and the long prom to walk along. Play area up on the cliff with plenty of space for parking and picnic.
