If the sun is out, this is the place to be. Beautiful clean white sand. Child friendly beach that stretches for miles. Even on a chilly day it is great to blow the cobwebs away.

Beaches are such a Marmite thing - some you love, some you hate. Gorleston is a lovely long beach which is clean, pet friendly & great for late-night strolls with your loved one. Not a Scarborough, Southend type, but all the better for that.

When you go to the beach, you want sand, and lots of it. That's exactly what Gorleston beach offers. Lots of fun for kids to play in the soft sand.

Gorleston beach was a huge surprise, we had driven through the town lots of times but not ventured towards the beach.

When we did, what a surprise waited for us!

A large bay, which seems to go on forever, a model boat lake and a children's paddling pool and that was just for starters.

A row of beach cafés, which serve amongst other things fish and chips, amusements and a beach goods shop. There is even a small park area to sit and relax in.

Perhaps one downside is parking but the bus service drops you not far away, the walk is worth it for the 'games area' on the beach - overall a great place for everyone, young and old.

Went to Gorleston beach last Sunday morning as we were in the area and my wife wanted to walk on the beach as it was her birthday. Quite something to be able to walk on a British beach at end of October in gorgeous sunshine. Lovely fine sand, well maintained clean and would be paradise for young children. Good cafes and amusements. Traditional British seaside resort. Probably wouldn't appeal to older children.
