This would be considered as a budget business hotel. The location is great (JR Osaki station) and there is a passage connecting from the station to the hotel.

The rooms are extremely small, that is what to be expected in most Japanese business hotels. The wall is extremely thin, I could hear people talking in the middle of the night.. I find it extremely disturbing and I had to call the reception to take care of it.

Other than the location, I would choose a different hotel next time.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is NOT next to the elevator.

Was there for business trip for a week in Aug 2014. Do not confuse this with Hotel New Otani Tokyo. They are in a different league.

What is good:
- The hotel is located near Osaki station (about 2 min walk) and is very convenient
- There are many restaurants near by
- There is also a convenient store just around the corner and is 24 hours

What is not good:
- The limo bus does not stop at this hotel. This makes travelling (to and from Airport) very inconvenient as you will need to alight at another hotel and make another transfer
- All rooms do not come with wifi. It is only available in the hotel main lobby. This is very inconvenient especially for business travels
- Rooms are small but clean
- Inflexible check out time is 11am. Unlike other hotels, there is no negotiation for late check out for this hotel. I requested to check out at 1130am but was told I have to pay 1,000 Yen per hour after 11am.

Overall: Not recommended unless you are there for only a few nights.

Hotel is steps away from the Osaki station. Which has lots of Japanese restaurants and a sandwich cafe.

Room is pretty small but for travelers its no problem since most of the time spent is out of the hotel anywaus.
The room has a bedside radio which plays their Solitudes albums which I find it soothing letting it play in the background when in the room.
The kettle is a teeny little container just enough for a cup.

Room Tip: Put special request for smoking or non-smoking

Overall, the hotel is a very nice hotel, conveniently located near Shinagawa train station. The hotel is clean and adequate. Depending on the rate you pay, it can be a bargain. There is a Lawson's convenience store nearby which makes a convenience for coffee or others items. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall a bit worn, but clean.

We stayed here for one night only during Golden Week and we were ecstatic with its location. There is a tube connecting it from the JR Yamanote Line. It is also in Ohsaki Gate City which is filled restaurants and shops. There is also a bus station below.

Service is sub-standard for me. Nobody even helped with our bags. This is an issue for me as even the modest hostels offer you some sort of help with luggage and they did not. The wifi was horrible as well.

The room is spacious enough for two people (small double room) and is well-appointed. The carpet was disgusting though and gave me allergies. The view, however, was magnificent.

Overall, good hotel if you plan on exploring Shinagawa- Shibuya-Shinjuku area as you can get on and off the Yamanote line (especially if you JR pass) quite easily from here.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the trains - you get a magnificent view of western Tokyo at night everything i...

I booked New Otani Inn in lieu of the usual Prince hotel at Shinagawa as the latter were all sold out for my travel dates. The price was quite reasonable (even for the Super Executive Double -- albeit through Expedia rather than the hotel direct). The smaller rooms are very reasonably priced, but also quite small -- check the room sizes and bed sizes on the web site before booking (only the Super Executive has a queen-size (160cm wide) bed, the others are double (140cm) or less.

The location is great -- there is a walkway from the (front entrance of) the hotel to the JR Osaki station, from where you can take the Yamanote line to most of the major Tokyo stations. Or exit through the back entrance next to the Meguro River, and take a short (5-10 minute) walk along the river to Gotanda, where you can also catch the Asakusa and Ikegami line trains. Gotanda also has plenty of places to eat, much more so than Osaki.

The reception is small but clean; the staff are polite but many have limited English skills. The rooms are clean (but did I mention small?). The furnishings and carpets are clearly older, but well cleaned and maintained. And the room keys are actual metal keys -- not a common sight these days.
