“Puddleduck Cottage.”
Reviewed 9 April 2014

We were a little taken aback by the militant manner in which the regulations were given to us on arrival. We were extremely disappointed to find that the timer on the spa is automatically switched off for 12 hours of the day! This was the main draw-card to this establishment and we would have gone elsewhere had we known.
The gardens were really lovely and we found it a very quiet area although we could see into the neighbours yard and if they had decided to have a party we would have been there too.
The beds were very comfortable but the cleanliness of the unit wasn't the highest standard. There were hairs in the shower, the coffee table and our bathroom cabinet were quite dirty, definitely needed a good wipe down.
Take note: the water may be a short walk away but you will need rock climbing gear to get down there. Allow a longer walk or take the car to get to the beach (the return walk is uphill). One cottage has a long drive so be prepared to back out carefully. An average stay, we won't be back.

Dear 762Anita, thank you for your comments. We are obliged to offer advice to all our guests on operating the spa and we are governed by EPA (noise pollution regulations) and also Health Department regulations with regards to the purity of the water for the health & safety of our guests. In accordance with the EPA regulations the spa has to be set to switch off between the hours of 2300 and approximately 1000 the following morning. However our guests may request that the 1000 start time, may be changed to a slightly earlier time, which they sometimes do. The view of the neighbours swimming pool and garden is part of the charm afforded by staying at Puddleduck Cottage Spa Apartment. Your comments regarding the cleanliness of the apartment for your visit have been duly noted. As the maps of our area in Mount Martha will show that Puddleduck Cottage is approximately 1 km from our South beach and our cafes, Restaurants and wine bars. A picturesque walk through our lanes to the shops and beach takes approximately 20-25 minutes or is a short drive. The cliff area is a very popular swimming spot here during our hot summers. We strive to ensure that our guests are cared for and they are requested to inform us at any time if anything is not entirely to their satisfaction. Our office is situated two doors away. Once again thank you for allowing us the opportunity to address your complaints. Kind regards Stella and Derek P.S. there is a slight up hill walk on the return to the property which is situated on the slopes of Mount Martha

My Mum booked this so that when my parents visited from W.A they could explore a bit of the pennisula. My partner and I are not really B&B people usually but we had such a beautiful stay. The hosts are friendly without being intrusive, kind witohut being fussy. The beds were beautiful - I slept so well! I can't recommend this place enough.

We stayed for 3 nights at Puddleduck Spa Apartment and family took the other half for 2 nights. The beds were comfortable, the whole cottage was well presented, and the gardens were pretty.
We were all extremely pleased with the property which is well located for exploring the Mornington Peninsula. The owner gave us some good recommendations for local places to visit.

We stayed at the Puddleduck for one night in order to attend a wedding in the area.
We stayed in the front cottage which we found very clean, tidy & comfortable.
The owners are very friendly helpful people and were kind enough to drive us to the wedding venue several kilometres away.
The cottage is located in a very quiet area with lovely gardens surrounding the buildings.
We would be very happy to stay there again if we were to spend more time in the area.

One thing to be very aware of in the Mornington Peninsula area is the APPALLING Taxi service.
For us it was non existent even from 8:30 pm when we tried to return to "Puddleduck". Our Taxi never arrived.
This in no way reflects on the owners of this or any other accommodation in the area, it's a fact of life down there.

Stayed at puddleduck cottage for 2 nights, the cottage was lovely, the highlight was of course the jacuzzi! The owner was sound and kept away which was respectful! Pity about the neighbours with the dog next door, who was building something and decided that 9:30 am on a sat and sun am was an ideal time for the angel grinder! And then dog was barking at the ensuing noise.this was particularly annoying as the owner had set a timer for the jacuzzi to go off due to noise pollution but yet his neighbour didn't care bout noise pollution at 9am!!! The lemon trees/ fruit trees were really cool, we enjoyed our stay here, I would really recommend this cottage!but would have words with neighbour if I owned the cottage!
