My husband (Geoff) and I have just come back from staying at Moody's (we should have booked for longer!). Our room was very comfortable and clean, fitted out with coffee making, toaster, microwave, air con, only a 3 minute walk to the shops and the beach and a 5 minute drive to Rye. The location of the motel is great for ease of sightseeing the peninsula. We were both highly impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.... the night manager even joined us in an inpromptu bbq with other guests (three families visiting from Hong Kong who we had never met before) and played us a few songs on his guitar!

We stayed here in December 2011 and it was really basic and tired rooms. I'm pretty sure that the review below mine has to be from the owners as I can't imagine anyone staying here for a week and being happy with their stay. We didn't expect luxury and it was fine as basic accommodation while we were in town to buy a beach house but the facilities are limited.

Moodys Motel is accomodation with class, the credit goes to the owners and managers, highly recommend a minimum of a week stay over at any time. We have only ever had this experience with service at hotels overseas. Room service was the best. The best crisp white sheets where delightful that was washed daily hung in the sun and replaced before our feet hit the floor!
Please take advantage of the professional hospitality and the relaxing feeling that comes with staying at Moodys Motel.

Room Tip: All the room look great

I took my 3 kids for a special weekend away bike riding. We took the ferry accros from queenscliff and then rode down to Blairgowrie. It was cold and wet and the reception we got at Moodys was fantastic. The staff stored our bikes and made sure we had everything we needed in our room. The manager even lent us dvd's from her private collection so the kids would have something to watch in the evening. The rooms were compact but served all our needs, with plates, cutlery, toaster and microwave so that we could enjoy breakfast in our room. It even had a breakfast bar with stools to sit at. The kids loved the large spa bath. The room was clean and fresh. It had new carpet and a nice sized lcd tv in the master bedroom. The location is only a block away from the main Blairgowrie shopping centre and accross the road from the beach. This was very important to us as we packed very light. We loved our weekend away and plan to do it again in better weather.

Room Tip: We had a room on the bottom floor close to the road, it had a large spa bath and was very comfortabl...

Moody's Motel is in a very handy spot on the southern Mornington Peninsula, just across the road from Blairgowrie Beach and the Marina/Yacht Squadron and 2 mins walk from the shops, local restaurants and supermarket. We have just stayed here for four nights and found it an ideal base for exploring the peninsula. We walked on the foreshore and ocean beaches, visited the wineries and hot springs. The staff were so warm and helpful with giving us ideas on where to visit, eat, drink and sightsee and spent the time to give us directions. There is a fantastic Indian restaurant just next door and other nice restaurants and cafes just down the street. 5 minute drive to the Rye and Sorrento. The room was kept clean and tidy. Good value for money. Will be coming back here next year for another relaxing short holiday.

We recently took our friend from Switzerland to Moodeys for two nights and we were all very impressed with the place. The room was neat, tidy and cosy with everything you needed. Location was great being just across the road from the beach and also central to Sorrento and rye, not to mention the short walk to quaint shops and cafe's in Blairgowrie. Best of all, the service I have to say was 5 Star. Nothing was to much trouble, anything that we needed was accommodated and the managers were very friendly and warm. Will definitely be back within the year.

We stayed in a room with two bedrooms as I have a baby. It was $250 per night and it was tiny and very dated. Not worth the money paid! It was also extremely noisy, people who work there always going in and out of a door next to ours at all hours. The only positive is the location so close to the beach. No room service except for clean towels which we had to ask for. One of the beds was so uncomfortable I actually lay awake for close to 2 hrs in pain. Would never stay here again.
