“Lovely setting, wonderful food, rooms tired”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014 via mobile

Still worth a visit, but the rooms and areas around the pool are in need of an upgrade. The room keys are very chucking and frustratingly awkward to use. That aside the food is excellent as are the staff. Top breakfast.

A winding drive takes you to this lovely chateau just outside Luynes. Beautifully kept and staff very attentive. Ate lunch and dinner on the terrace which overlooked well kept landscaped garden with fountain. We had room in the converted loft area -it was a hot day so glad of the air conditioning. Also the insect screens on the windows a welcome thought as lots of gnats etc buzzing about outside. Wonderful food. Lovely chateau - decor and furnishings lovely. Can't fault it - had a lovely overnight stay and if in the area again will certainly stay. Plenty of parking within their grounds.

Tired of routine and want to get away from it all, can't afford fortunes but want real luxury? Well domaine de beauvois has it all....we love this Chateau! Not pretentious, but sufficiently posh and you will be spoilt. Book the all inclusive dinner package, great value and disregard what you think you like, as food will surprise you here. It is the most consistent and high quality food I have eaten on mainland Europe....we will be back, thanks to all the staff again for making this a fabulous Easter break...

Room Tip: They are all great, ask for a guided tour...the Kings Room, yes, for the King...is really special!

We visited here en route from Spain to the UK, the decorations had been put up for Christmas, and looked quite magical. The fire in the salon had been lit, providing a romantic atmosphere. The staff appreciated how exhausted we were and nothing was a problem, unfortunately we had to leave early, but will be back to visit again next year, when hopefully we have more time to enjoy, the staff were amazing, the hotel delightful.

I can't say enough good about Domaine de Beauvois. This redone chateau is beautifully appointed, the staff is very helpful and efficient, and the rooms are superb. This was our first full night in France so we drove directly from Charles de Gaulle to Domaine de Beauvois. Fortunately they have a four star restaurant on the property where I could take my time and hone up on my rusty French and impress my wife by ordering in French. My server was very indulgent and helpful. It's obvious I can't say enough GOOD about this establishment.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room along the Western side of the Chateau so I would suggest that. It was superbly...

We arrived at this hotel in the rain after a long drive, tired and very much looking forward to settling in and enjoying a glass of wine. We checked in and were told by the receptionist that our room had been upgraded. We were led down a long corridor that stank of damp, past the gaping entrance to their Cave (from which no doubt some of this nauseating smell emanated) to a room that I can only describe as appalling - probably the worst room we have ever been offered in all the years we have travelled.
After letting us in, the Receptionist scuttled away leaving us to stare at each other in bewilderment - if this is an upgrade!!! The smell of damp mixed with some ghastly carpet cleaner/"air freshener" was overpowering. Two mean little beds (we had asked for singles, but these were dismal) and a chair under the small window, which would not stay open, basically furnished this "upgraded" accommodation. The overpowering smell was so awful we went for a walk to clear our heads and then in search of reception and another room. Without blinking or questioning why (but with absolutely no apology) we were immediately given another room in the main body of the hotel - warm, totally different beds (although I was asked to wait until morning for them to be made into twins) - I offered to do the work myself and miraculously they were done before bedtime this room was well lit and generally what one expects from a hotel that claims to be a "Chateaux-Hotel et Demeures de Charme".
The lounge is comfortable for a pre dinner drink and on the first night of our stay, the dining room was busy and agreeable, although my husbands fish arrived cold and inedible and had to be returned so basically I ate alone. Generally I would describe the cuisine as competent hotel dining room style. The second night was much quieter and completely lacked any atmosphere.
Breakfast was expensive but did offer a good selection.

I certainly wouldn't recommend this hotel after the accommodation we were offered. First impressions count for a lot and having to start a stay with a confrontation spoils everything. I have used the Average rating below to express my displeasure.

Room Tip: Personally I would not accept a room on the ground floor past the cave.

I stayed there from the first to the third, August 2013. The atmosphere was good and the staff were friendly. The amenity was not quite excellent: the drawer in the wardrobe was not big enough. But considering that this is a manor house and not an urban hotel, that is not intolerable. The food (= dinner) was not bad (probably I ought to say "good"), but a bit too elaborated (of course that is a matter of opinion.)
