“Slightly quirky”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

A wonderful little hotel, with a slightly quirky aspect. Modern, clean, with attentive staff the rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The quirky aspect is the subdued lighting in the rooms, provided by translucent blocks which form the bedside tables. These have an individual lighting system that is also linked to the coloured lighting behind the bed. Very nice, you think, until they go into disco mode flashing on and off in a somewhat disconcerting manner. I liked it, but could have used something to stop the flashing and just keep the subdued nature. (Perhaps I just failed to find the way to do it). I'd stay here again, though, without a second thought.

Wish we could have stayed longer at this little gem in the countryside. Conveniently located a few minutes off the main highway (A-75), but feels worlds apart. The village of Aumont-Aubrac is lovely and historic. The hotel itself is modern, stylish, and comfortable. We arrived just after the restaurant stopped serving, but they hostess/manager (?) very nicely offered to make up a couple plates and deliver it to our room. I should have taken a picture of what arrived--a magnificent-looking plate of salmon atop Puy lentils with plump asparagus and a fancy salad, plus a delectable chocolate mousse with fruit. Since we didn't order anything specific, and the restaurant has a famous chef, we assumed this was an expensive meal, but were very pleased to see the bill for only 16 euro each the next day. The only downside to the hotel is that it could use more sound-proofing between the guest rooms, which is pretty important for sleep quality.

We stayed three days, as a family, in this very nice hotel which offers the best accommodations of the region. Everything was nice: large and modern rooms, perfect cleanliness and a very pleasant and smiling staff.
The food options are multiple: a nice breakfast not so much by quantity as to by the quality of the products selected, the "brasserie" which is a very affordable option with high quality local dishes and the gastronomic restaurant for the true french food lovers.
At the end of the stay, the bill was as advertised during the booking without any bad surprise, and in total a very good value for money.
I definitely recommend "Chez Camillou" if you want to enjoy the beauty of Aubrac with all the comfort.

Room Tip: The "appartment" room is great for families with lots of space

But could do with a more pleasant management.we stayed there for one night at the beginning of April when the hotel just reopened after the winter period. It was a rainy and cold day and therefore it was impossible to keep the windows open and I was really disturbed by the smell of the recent painting of the room (having a touch of asthma). The following morning we just mentionned it to the manager and he had a rather strange reaction:not a single word of apology and he only said that the hotel had just reopened and it was natural it still smelt of paint....Who ever said that the" client est roi et a tojours raison?."...On top of it I don't think the rooms are particularly attractive they are really quite small but I must admit the bed is comfortable and it is not very cheap .In short we are not likely to stop again at this hotel.

We stayed at the Logis Chez Camillou for three nights early July on a cycling trip in France. The staff were extremely helpful and very pleasant. Our room overlooking the front of the hotel was lovely and very spacious with a very comfortable bed. The buffet breakfast had one of the best choices we had during our 17 days in France, and was constantly being restocked by the staff. We ate in the adjoining restaurant where the food was good but the wine list was expensive.

We have stayed twice here on a stop driving to Spain.
Friendly service. Reasonably priced.
On the edge of a village so setting is quiet. Great views from the front rooms.
Room is large, bed comfortable and bathroom had been recently renovated to include a rain shower.
Buffet Breakfast is also good (although little expensive).
Only downside is that there are only a few restaurants in the village and they finish serving food early.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front with a View
