“A highlight of southern France — great accommodation, great views, superb rural base for exploring”
Reviewed 14 November 2014 for a stay in June 2014

If like me you like to get off the beaten track a bit, as well as city delights, this is just great! Perched high on a ridge in a really interesting mix of farmland and forest, with spectacular views, this is a peaceful retreat in amongst farms, tiny villages and quite challenging hilly terrain. The main local village, Estaing, ten minutes drive away, is on one of the ancient pilgrimage routes, so in summer you see plenty of walkers. The barn is a superb base for exploring the rural landscapes, vineyards, towns, markets, national parks and many historic sites and cultural monuments of the region. Don't miss a meal in the local pub! The barn itself is a marvellous spot for a memorable al-fresco meal on a long summer evening. Don't miss the Gorges du Tarn [a day's drive]. The local markets will tantalise your tastebuds with wonderful flavourful produce.

“Supremely relaxing”
Reviewed 9 February 2014 for a stay in September 2013

My husband and I and our 9 year old stayed here last September/October 13. The house is perfect for a wind down. The scenery is breathtaking. It is very peaceful but quite remote. We enjoyed our stay immensely. The house is extremely well equipped and it was great to read all about the surrounding countryside and the list of suggested things to do, which are all well documented in the literature at the house. Highly recommended if you need some rest and want to enjoy living in the countryside for a spell. The supermarket is about a 10-15 minute drive away and has everything you need to stock up. The pool was also a bonus (although a tad chilly) with a child!

“Beautiful barn in Estaing - great area to relax or explore”
Reviewed 2 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We spent a wonderful week at this barn which is beautifully and authentically furnished. It is extremely comfortable and can easily accommodate 6-8 guests. The barn with its lovely pool is nicely secluded yet close enough to venture into the local town of Estaing to take advantage of the local culture, architecture and food. There is a golf course close by for those guests who would like to be a little more active and the opportunity to visit and taste the Roquefort cheese made close by should not be missed. This is a great place to stay to explore this lovely region of France.

“A Taste of Country France, lovely views in a peaceful location.”
Reviewed 31 January 2014 for a stay in September 2013

This place was great! The cottage appears to be a converted barn which has been totally refurbished. We wanted to experience the French countryside with our two sons so a week was spent visiting nearby villages, enjoying the local farmers markets and mixing with the locals. The cottage was clean and quiet with lovely views, Thanks!
