Debby and Tom from Akron, Ohio enjoyed two days at Freeport. The hosts were warm and welcoming. Breakfast had a great variety, hot and tasty, kept us energized till evening. We enjoyed chatting at breakfast with the hosts and they were helpful with local information. The rooms were clean, neat and quiet. We had a great view of the water and distant mountains. We were within walking distance of shops, pubs, restaurants.

I've sent a review before, but don't know what happened to it. We loved the location, view, and Joan in particular. She's warm and welcoming and served a great breakfast. We loved the view from our rooms and her fabulous hospitality. We felt lucky we were within walking distance of two of the top-rated pubs in the Galway area. They were perfect and the food was wonderful. It was truly a taste of the true Ireland countryside. We would definitely return!

Room Tip: Ask for Bay side if possible for the view.

We stayed at the Freeport House one night. We had a beautiful view of the sea. Joan is a wonderful host and she served us a wonderful breakfast. Very clean rooms and the location is so close to wonderful pubs and restaurants. We definitely will stay with Joan again when we return to Ireland.

If you're looking for relaxation, quiet seaside locations you couldn't do much better than this. Very clean and comfortable rooms with the usual amenities (including Kleenex, not common) greeted us for two nights in November. Beautiful view of Galway Bay from our 2'nd floor room facing east. Very comfortable bed, sufficient lighting for reading, reasonable bathroom, if a bit smell all combined to give us a feeling of good value for money spent. Location is excellent - very close to Galway but right on the edge of the Connemara district for those wishing to explore the beauty of that area. Easy walking to great restaurants - a couple of hundred feet at most. Right on the road but road noise was non existent. Breakfast was, as you would expect, excellent! Joan is a wonderful and engaging host.

Room Tip: Number 6 has what is probably the best view in the place. Faces directly east.

We stayed here as we were attending a wedding in the twelve hotel just across the road. Joan gave us a warm welcome and showed us to our room. We were on the ground floor and had a lovely view of the sea. The room was clean and spacious with a spotless en suite. The beds were very comfortable. We both drove there and there is a large spacious car park to the rear which is very handy. The B and B has a real mums house feel-not modern but warm, cosy and comfortable. I felt just like we were at my parents house and I loved that feeling. Breakfast hit the spot too. Thank you.

Joan is a great host and makes you feel very welcome! It is clean and spacious. We really enjoyed our stay. Although I think it would be better to stay in the warmer months though. Donnelly's tavern only a short walk was excellent for a drink and for dinner, very cozy!! Thank you so much!
