My wife and I stayed here two weeks ago to celebrate our anniversary. We had contacted the hotel in advance of this and were very pleasently surprised to find some home baked pastries waiting for us in our room. Room was very comfortable, mood lighting in the bathroom quite interesting, although only one of two lights worked. Loved the rain shower. We dined in the hotel restaurant, West, which was very enjoyable. The Pins bar, however, was what really made it for us. Any time we passed through it or had a drink there, especially at nightime, the place was rocking, great athmosphere, etc. Breakfast was included in our rate and was extensive in its variety and freshness. Only negative was a strangely damp smell in the corridors. Otherwise, a fine hotel.

This hotel has very good customer service, they go above & beyond to assist where necessary & this is distinctively adds to the experience of the hotel. The Bar dining is very good, with a varied selection of foods.
You do need transport to access Galway as it is out of town but still in suburban area.
Room was tired, very dark re lighting & colour themes, which included bathroom. Housekeeping average. Breakfast average.

Room Tip: Not on main road side of hotel

On arrival we were provided with an upgrade to a higher quality suite which was a pleasant surprise. A complementary bottle of Champagne and nibbles added to the friendly arrival which by comparison to some others set the tone for a great stay in Galway. A little tired we ordered gluten free pizza to accompany our champagne in the room and it arrived in record time. Breakfast was excellent and the Bar/Restaurant meal at night was also of a high standard. A seafood restaurant across the road was a great back up on one night when the hotel Bar/Restaurant was full due to a soccer match and locals liking the venue. The seafood restaurant was also excellent. Again a meal was not charged but upon advising the reception person a sole and thank you was more to our liking than at a previous venue where a similar issue occurred.
Definitely can recommend this place and number three of the ten hotels we visited during our holiday.

We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay at this hotel. Breakfast was delicious and I loved the spa products in our bathroom. I even purchased some at Reception on our way home. The staff couldnt have been nicer. Barna is quite a romantic destination too, the walk on the pier was magical. The bedroom space was very generous andI loved all the little extra touches like all the little extras in the bathroom and the coffee perculator. Decent flat screen tv in the room too. We will definitely be back.

Would definitely recommend the Twelve for your stay in the Galway area! The location is perfect for day trips around western Ireland. The hotel and rooms are very nice and the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. We had only one, very small, complaint and that is that the wi-fi service was a little spotty. Otherwise, loved the Twelve and will stay there again when we return!

Stayed just one night but thought the hotel - particularly the accommodation superb.

Very luxurious - quirky but in a good way.

Very expensive due to the races being on but worth it (€250 standard room)

The bathroom was one of the best in a so called standard room I have ever seen.

Nice strawberries in chocolate and home made biscuits.

We stayed at The Twelve at the end of August for 4 nights in a family suite. Two adults and two small children. We have stayed here before just over 1 year ago and so obviously we thought it good enough for a return visit. Our room was a double room with a separate living area with two sofas which can be used as single beds. The living area also has a small kitchen area with a sink, microwave and fridge. The room is well appointed and generally well kept. Housekeeping was not perfect, the coffee machine was never cleaned during our stay, a large dead spider on the window sill was still there after the room was cleaned and on our first day no face cloths had been left in the room (only an issue as they were standard the other days).

Apart from those housekeeping issues, the staff are very friendly and helpful. They all seemed to genuinely enjoy interacting with our 3 and 1 year olds. The hotel's trump card is its food. It has an excellent fine dining restaurant and a very good bar bistro which has a dedicated pizza kitchen attached. Children are accommodated in both but are really only suited to the bistro. There is also an incredible selection of wines and beers. On top of all this they also have an in house bakery so breakfast is excellent.

The location is in a small village, there is little to do but plenty of dining options beyond the hotel and a supermarket all within walking distance. If you are travelling with a car however you are positioned between Galway (10 min) and Salthill beach and promenade (5 min) on one side and Connemara, the Aran Islands and the Atlantic Coast on the other.

Overall, I think this hotel is well run, a beautiful place to stay and a gastronomic delight. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends.
