Arriving on a cold windy day - warmed up by a hot punch as I checked in . My (unfortunately too short) stay was excellent on all counts. Friendly, competent staff, luxury yet relaxed surroundings, attention to detail, delicious (local) food, personal touches and a great sense of fun! I had intended to write a lot more but judging by other reviewers the management of The Twelve have hit the nail on the head! Well done!

My boyfriend treated me to a lovely weekend at The Twelve. We arrived late in the evening to a lovely welcome and a glass of delicious warm punch at reception.
The suite was fantastic..there was even a welcome card and little cake waiting for us. The room was toasty warm which was nice as it was lashing rain and cold outside.
We had a lovely meal at the West and equally good meal in the bar the following evening.
Breakfast was yummy too.
All the staff were very helpful, one exceptionally nice manager even jump started our car when the battery went flat.
The little touches really made our weekend. Will definitely be back.

Stayed here late October early November based on a previous stay in june for a wedding. My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights and have to say that our second trip was just as good if not better than our first.
I asked the receptionist to organise a surprise for my partner which they did with absolutely no effort.
check in is so personal you feel like you are personal friends of the lovely receptionists. There is four in total each as professional, efficient and friendly as the next, I'm sorry I don't have all their names but I dealt with Anna more so so I will mention her,
The room itself is lovely clean everything you need in it! (some rooms do have a balcony for you smokers) the suite we were upgraded to didn't but have to say was still amazing. from both stays the room and suite were great.
didn't eat in the bar but had drinks they have a very decent selection of drinks and very friendly staff (barry/adam his girlfriend is in Dublin if that narrows it down) even remembered us from our previous one night stay!
Room service great however do make sure you ask for condiments as from my experience did not come as standard(but we did order a fair bit at one time)
The Restaurant..... Just try it, brilliant food and service - choose the option to let the waiter choose your wine for you. Sarah here really helped us in enjoy our meal and wine.
At breakfast you get a large cook to order choice of foods and it is not your standard full irish which is really refreshing to see- pancakes, omelets, french toast, welsh rerbit etc! ask for crispy bacon...

All in all, brilliant hotel, definitely recommend it. Ignore all the negative comments these people clearly have bees in their bonnets or are not getting enough of something somewhere....

Room Tip: Every room is great!

Stayed here on 7th and 8th Nov on the basis of reviews on Tripadvisor for a 2night Break which included B&B and one evening meal. When we arrived the room that was allocated to us had no Wi-Fi. We waited for an hour to get a room that had Wi-Fi.The Air Conditioning did not work propery (the controls were in the corner of the room which was almost dark-you would need a torch to see it in fact the lighting in the room in the corridoor was very poor). You would to have to wait almost 10 minutes for the hot water to come through the taps. The Breakfast was very poor-2fried eggs slapdashed together rashers that appeared to have been reheated no cold meat or cheese dishes (which you would find in most 3*hotels) no fish dishes. However, the meal in the West Restaurant was Fantastic (obviously a different chef from the one that cooks breakfast). Another good thing about the Hotel is the Bar across the road-ODonnellys great food great pint great crack.
Overall very dissappointded with the Hotel as it was recommended by a friend and it was not cheap by any means, for example there is no comparison between the Twelve and the Knightsbrook in Trim which is a real 4* and much cheaper.

Room Tip: Bring a torch for air conditioning controls

We stayed here as part of a five day honeymoon around the west coast of Ireland. As we were on honeymoon, we were upgraded to an amazing suite for both nights. This was complimentary and fruit and biscuits were in our room when we got there.

Unfortunately the restaurant (the West) was not open (as it doesn't open on Mondays or Tuesdays) but the breakfast was lovely and there was a wide range of choices. The bar also had a large selection of craft beers on draft and bottles.

All in all, a lovely hotel in nice surroundings. A taxi in to Galway was only 13euro and it was worth it to be staying that little bit out of town. Donnellys across the road also does excellent food!

Stayed here for one night with my friend. We were upgraded to a suite which was a big treat.
The room was huge and luxurious.
We ate in The West restaurant and the food was delicious and the service was perfect.

The only thing That I didn't like was that there was a TV blaring in the bar with a rugby match on. Not what I want in a top class hotel!!
Also for some unknown reason the stairs that led down to the toilets was closed off and it appeared that the only toilet available was the disabled one which was being used by someone taking a very long time! I had to make a mad dash back to our room. I wasn't impressed by that.

Overall a very good experience though.
