“Lovely rural cottage”
Reviewed 15 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We really enjoyed our stay here. Very quiet and close to Hadrian's wall and vindolanda etc.
Love the original features of the cottage and was nice and snug to sit down together and watch a film at night.
Shame the weather didn't help us out but you can't have it all.
The cottage had everything you could possibly need and more. Loved the view of the fields through the window.
Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice quiet base to explore the area from.

“ideal cottage, old and quirky with everything you need”
Reviewed 11 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We loved this cottage. Spacious upstairs living area and kitchen with everything you need. Freezer under stairs if you need one. The exposed beams and thick walls remind you that you are staying in some real Northumberland history. A double and single room and what looked to be a good foldup bed if needed. Although this place takes pets it is clean and odour free Owners very friendly and helpful. This lovely cottage is very quiet and the skies are super dark for the Milkyway as you may never have seen before. Great location for Hadrian's Wall - it's on you doorstep! The east coast is about an hour drive and so worth it

“A small corner of heaven”
Reviewed 5 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We arrived here in the early evening. We did get a bit lost on the way but we called the number provided and the lady was very helpful. The cottage is at the end of a track that looks over heavenly countryside. There is a picnic bench outside where we enjoyed a glass of wine in the evening sun. Our dog loves it here. We went for a short walk after we arrived and he enjoyed the smells of the countryside while I enjoyed the views - and we saw sheep, cows, shetland ponies, chickens and rabbits. The cottage is clean and very well presented. It's an 'upside down' house with the bedrooms on the ground floor and living area upstairs. This is lovely because you have the best views upstairs. One thing to be aware of is that there is only a small freezer compartment available.

“Excellent location for Hadrian's Wall”
Reviewed 26 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Very comfortable cottage in a quiet location, walks from the door and easy access to Hadrian's wall visitor centres. Lovely food at the Bowes Hotel in Bardon Mill just down the road. Dog welcome at both the cottage and pub.

“Beautiful Cottage in Superb Location.”
Reviewed 23 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Excellent cottage, well equipped, in very peaceful location. Wireless broadband and Sky TV are a bonus and the standard of decor and comfort are excellent. Very rural location with beautiful views and not a sound at night.

We will be back.
