The Courtfield arms is a traditional pub in a very scenic area adjoining the River Wye. We received a warm & friendly welcome from Paula the manager. The food was very good especially the chips which were outstanding. The wait for the meal for was fairly quick and we enjoyed watching the activities of the canoists on the River Wye I shall go again when in the area.

No ambiance, very young staff on the bar who spent most of the time chatting with their even younger mates. Food adequate. Would not return

We've eaten twice in The Courtfield since the latest change of management . On both occasions the food has been good - as has the service. Our last meal was a Sunday lunch, which overall was very good. The pork and lamb were tender and sweet. My beef was ok but a little tough. The yorkshire pudding was great and the vegetables were lovely. Although the portions were generous, another slice of meat would have been appreciated.

Overall though, good value and we shall definitely eat there again. It's now up getting up there with The Dog and Muffler. The owner and the staff are clearly making a real effort and it's a vast improvement. Good luck!

We went there today as we were canoeing down the river Wye and we decided to stop for a quick bite.
The quick bite turned to be a disastrous experience. We were a party of 8. The food of the last four of us took over an hour and a half to arrive. We asked 3 times why was it taking so long ect, but all we heard was that is coming in the next 10min. We asked to see the manager, but were told she is in the kitchen and even when we insisted we didn't see her. When the food eventually came the burgers were stone cold. I didn't touch mine. We were late bringing the canoes back because we waited so long in the pub. The staff didn't apologise at all and said somewhat indifferent that this happens regularly and that the manger always "hides" and doesn't deal with complaints face to face. There was another table of 6 near by whose food was late and cold and they ended up returning theirs. One of my friends had sausages and mash. The mash was made of uncooked potatoes and some of them were almost raw. Needles to say he didn't eat it. If we had more time we would have asked to be refunded for the food we left untouched. Terrible food and staff. We wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
