“Charming Rental in Rural Setting”
Reviewed 2 October 2017 for a stay in September 2017

After many years renting properties in Europe, Blanc is by far the most well-appointed and comfortable home we've come across. Fiona met us as we pulled in the driveway, showed us around the house, and helped us get settled. There was a bowl of fresh fruit and a bottle of wine to welcome us. During the course of the week we heard from Fiona and Heather, the owner, checking in to see if our needs were met. We celebrated a wedding anniversary during our stay, and the day of our anniversary there was fresh bread and croissants outside the door, along with a bottle of Champagne!

This region of France is very beautiful and unspoiled; there are so many historically significant sights within a short drive. Some days, however, it was hard to pull ourselves away. The surrounding property of Moulin de Malecoste is as lovely and picturesque as any bucolic French country painting you could find. This was our second trip to the Dordogne, and we hope to return again one day.

“Fabulous”
Reviewed 24 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

Just great in every way, from the tasteful renovation and the excellent equipment on site to the welcome from the building manager (who lives off site) and all the little thoughtful touches that make a stay a real delight. The space in the apartment made it a fantastic getaway for two, but would lend itself to a small get together of friends/family by using the other properties on site (2). The reception spaces mean you can all be together, inside or out! Fireplaces, beautiful decor, comfortable beds, baths and sofas... we're really picky, but this place was close to perfect!

“Outstanding!”
Reviewed 1 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Outstanding accommodation - Heather and Rad have thought of everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. We stayed in Blanc - it was extremely comfortable and well appointed. Fiona was on hand to answer all our queries, she was so kind and thoughtful and gave us lots of ideas for our days out. The Welcome basket was greatly appreciated.

“Fabulous”

Perfect. I do not use this word lightly - there is nothing that either my husband or I can think of that would make Blanc any better. The photos are spot on. It is beautiful. We stayed there towards the end of seven weeks in France and Moulin de Malecoste was our second last stop. I can truly say it was the best accommodation we had in our entire time in France (and we were pretty happy with everything else we had experienced,) The weather was really wet but we have enjoyed visiting many nearby villages and enjoyed even more returning to Blanc to light the fire and hunker down with a glass of wine. The place is spotless and the quality of the furniture, fittings, linen etc is first rate. All the special touches; cheese, sausage, bread and wine on arrival plus fresh fruit in the bowl and then a special breakfast surprise on the 1st morning made it quality service extraordinaire. Highly recommend.

Thank you so much for this great review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay in Blanc and that you were comfortable. Sorry that the weather was not fantastic but then you enjoyed lighting fires in the evening to enhance the atmosphere of Blanc and keep warm and cosy. Happy to hear that you enjoyed exploring the area and all the beautiful villages close by like Rocamadour, Collonges-la-Rouge, Turenne, pity that you di not take a canoe and go down the Dordogne river and have a picnick but maybe next time! Thank you for booking at Moulin de Malecoste and we hope that you nwill be back soon!

“Paradise on earth!”
Reviewed 16 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We have had the most amazing time at Le Moulin, it is a gem in itself and has absolutely everything (and more) you would be looking for. We stayed in Blanc - which had so much space for two people (2 bathrooms, huge living room, patio, kitchen...) and so luxurious with so many adorable attention to details from our hosts Heather and Rad. We felt at home immediately! The atmosphere is so relaxing with the little stream just outside our flat, the nature surrounding us and our hosts even started a fire one evening as the weather was a little cold. AMAZING! The place in itself is 500 years old and full of history but our hosts have turn it into a uber-luxurious flat with all the commodities you would be looking for.
The surroundings are incredible as well, the airport is only a 10m drive and all the most amazing towns, such as Rocamadour... are only 30m. If you are a Francophile like we are you could not ask for a better spot. We totally indulged into French wine and food for a week.
We very much look forward to heading back again very soon and could not praise or recommend this place enough! Go and experience it for yourself!!! and again a big thank you to our host for such an incredible experience.

“Fabulous French Barn Conversion”

Beautifully furnished spacious accommodation. Picturesque location. The open fire (and huge wood pile) added to the atmosphere in a French autumn. No hesitation in recommending.
