I actually stayed here in March, so off-season, so I cannot say what it's like in the summer tourist season. But regardless, we were the only ones staying in the hotel during our stay and the owners were so hospitable. Absolutely lovely people, they really make you feel at home! The hotel is located on the opposite side of the downtownish side of Aegia, but if you rent a scooter , no problem! It's a wonderful ride on the coast of the island! But there are quite an array of great restaurants and clubs around Liberty 1. Couldn't really visit any since I went in March :) But they looked nice :)
I highly recommend this hotel!

I stayed there at the end of April 2010. Very calm time of year and pleasant to stay in the area. The owners wer very helpful, sweet and generous. I had to take the bus every day to get to Aegina town but I didn't care because my stay in Liberty Hotel was a real deal !! 19£ per night WITH a generous breakfast and free internet. There's alos a fridge in the room. The place and the 2 owners was a real treasure for me to find in my 5 weeks trip in Greece. There's a beach not to far and a little port if you need to take a ferry directly to Pireas without passing by Aegina port. A nice alternative ..

Spotlessly clean, lovely views and delightful owners - just do make sure you are in the correct Liberty- you want the one on the left as you go downhill, the one across the street is not as friendly and has different owners. Do not miss Ted and Gilly's full english breakfast at Gilly's one street further along and the fabulous Barracuda Bar - these are the highlights of what is otherwise rather boring and tacky in Agia Marina.

We just came back from our 10 days vacation on Aegina Island with our 1 year old son. Aegina is a wonderfull place and Agia Marina is the the most beautiful part of the island with the best beach. We had a lovely staying at Liberty 1 Hotel, clean room, comfortable new bed, big balcony, good breakfast and lovely hosts, Costas and Anastasia. We would like to go back and stay in the same hotel. Our initial plan was to spend some days in Athens, but the hotel we reserved there was dirty and expensive and the streets terribly unsafe, so we decided to go earlier on the island and it was the best decision.

room was quite spacious and clean with a nice balcony, the only critic realy is that it was noisy, i could hear people talking in the next room, the owners are very nice they even gave me a ride from the town to the marina area witch isn12km away. buffet breakfast was plentifull and not bad at all. i give this hotel a 7+ for the money!

First of all I'd like to say that coastas and anastacia (the owners) are amazing! costas was always helpful and even drove us to the temple of aphea one day. his wife was brilliant, she cleaned like a machine- it was spotless, breakfast was great.
when we arrived we had to go into a room different to the one we booked but it had a great sea-view from the balcony so we didn't mind. the balconys are a good size. unforunately this meant we had to move rooms for one night but the owners are so nice and carried all our bags for us so we didn't mind!
they have a laptop which you can use the internet on.
my only problems with the hotel- the bathrooms were a bit basic for me- i ended up getting them soaked all the time luckily it was so hot they dried quickly. also at times it was a little noisy- sound travelled well! but we might have also been in the hotel with a noisy bunch. but i don't wabt to be too harsh- i always got a good nights sleep.
brilliant value- can't believe how cheap it is.
aegina is a lovely little place- shame about the cigarette buts on the beach- have never seen anything like it!

The hotel is run by genuine greek family who have been building the business up from scratch for the last 2 1/2 years. They are not the usual fat cats trying to make a fortune at the expense of others. As hosts Costas and Anastasias you could not ask for better, they do everything possible to make your stay a happy one, sometimes at their own expense. Not the usual business approach but hopefully it will make them prosperous in the future and stand out from the rest.
Rooms are a good base, functional. Our room had a good sea and hot balcony in afternoon to top up your tan. 50 - 100 metres from beach, similar distance from the high street. Enough to avoid the bulk of the noise, and convenient, very good location.
