We recently returned home from a wonderful one week stay in Villa Dafne, which is located on the edge of the quaint village of Sivas.
The villa itself is beautifully decorated and furnished, and everything is brand new and in perfect condition. It is stocked with everything you could need – air-con, wifi, fridge/freezer, microwave, oven, dishwasher, coffee machine, comfy beds, hairdryer, separate bath and pool towels, TV, DVD player, sun loungers, deck chairs, large umbrellas and a lovely outdoor dining area.
The pool area is fantastic and has plenty of space. We were lucky enough to be there when neither of the other two villas were occupied so we had the entire pool area to ourselves which was an added bonus!
Our flight out to Crete was delayed by around an hour so we arrived at the villa later than we expected (around 11pm). However when we arrived Heike (the manager) was waiting for us and gave us a very warm welcome before showing us around the villa. One word of warning though – upon arrival we were asked to pay a EUR200 deposit (for any damages) which we had not been pre-warned about. Luckily we had enough cash to cover this but it was certainly an inconvenience.
Whilst we spent most of our time lazing around the pool we enjoyed visiting the beach at Matala and also had a lovely meal out there one evening. Our favourite beach was Agio Forago but we only visited once as it is quite a mission to get to – a long and slow drive down a dirt track followed by a 30 min walk in the blazing sunshine (albeit a very flat and easy walk). We had many lovely meals in Sivas village which is only as 5 minute walk from the villa.
