Lovely spot by the river but it stops there.
The food was not good
The steak was as tough as old boots and the vegetables tasted like they were cooked all last week
The seafood casserole also average both meals were over priced

Genuine warm welcome. Friendly professional service. Good food and wine. Just what you need after a long drive.

The restaurant overlooks the Aube river. Just off the A26 motorway, it's easy to find and well sign posted within the small town of Arcis.

Enjoyable evening.

We were 4 friends to share lunch on the terrace, it’s true the place is in a beautiful nature setting, not directly to the riverside but between two little quiet streets and overseeing the Aube river.
But the terrace in itself has strictly no charm, the plastic chairs are uncomfortable and make it cheap, just as the ugly paper sets on the tables. By contrast there are nice napkin rounds for… synthetic cloth napkins !
Welcome is also contrasting (we had to do with 4 people) but the lady who took our order was pleasant and smiling.
We all took the menu around 17 EUR served for lunch, three of us took the « terrine maison » : not a generous serving (3 mouthfuls) and strictly no taste, then I took the duck in thyme, I got half a duckleg and a littgle piece of carcass under a white sauce, 20 overdone spaghetti and a little tasteless flan in which I’m only sure there were eggs, it was not bad but it was as good as in a company canteen and I’m still looking for the thyme flavour… Then there was a miracle : the dessert was delicious ; an original version of tarte Tatin as a tiramisu.
Home red and white were OK.
To be exhaustive we had the pleasure to attend the delivery of bottled drinks ; hellish noise down below at the end of our meal
To sum up I didn’t detect the master chef soul boasted on their website.

Referred by Villa Primerose.

Good menu, quickly cooked, good value, great local wines.

Not the best restaurant we've ever had dinner in, but for a visit after a long drive it was more than average, service and quality better than most places you'd find in similar locations in England.
