Havin spent a lovely day on the Salentine coast we stopped in Porto Caesareo for dinner. Il Riccio looks inviting with its front terrace but all of the tables were either full or reserved. We happily took a table inside and it won't down hill from there. Hardly any if the dishes we chose on the menu were available. The bread basket (charged at 2.50 euros per person!) had 3 miniscule, very thin slices of bread with a handful of the small local bread biscuits. Definitely a rip off. My husband and son ordered the local pasta Orrechiette with a tomato sauce while I ordered a pasta with mullet. The Orrechiette arrived - in a sauce which was very reminiscent of the sauce you get with Heinz spaghetti hoops! After 15 minutes (and by which time my family had finished their pretty tasteless and uninspiring food) we attracted the attention of the boss to ask where my food was. The waiting boy had given it to another customer! It took another 10minutes to get my food. It was tasty I must say but there was very little of it. The boss was apologetic and didn't charge for my dinner. However the whole experience left a very bad taste in our mouths and having left the restaurant we promptly went looking for something else to eat as we were still hungry!
