Having seen how dire some of the bathroom facilities were in Central Riga establishments we opted to try out this hotel/spa overlooking the Baltezers lake. Boy were we glad.
This hotel is in a fantastic location and we took a bus into Riga central daily so got to see all the sites. The hotel itself is of a high specification and the food at the Sunset restaurant was of a very high standard. The breakfast buffet is substantial in terms of choice as well as volume.
Staff were friendly and helpful (though remember that Latvian's aren't as effusive as American service staff) and the bathrooms were immaculate.
Treat yourself to this experience rather than some dive more central for the same price .... and this from someone who has ALWAYS stayed in the heart of an old city ... up to now.
