Castle Naggar is an experience one should not miss if planning Manali trip. The heritage feel is everywhere and the rooms exude old royalty and charm. the rooms are spacious and has that rustic wood and stone feeling. Toilets are large and the fittings work. Food ( we stayed in MAP with veg option) was really good and tasty. but the biggest USP was the view....you can see the Beas and the snowcapped Pir Panjal range in one frame and if the sky is clear...it's awesome. it is just 45 mins from Manali and there is an excellent trout farm in between.

Room Tip: Go for the riverview, Greenfield, Her Highness suites.....awesome view from the balcony.

This is probably the best option to stay for Manali tour. If one plans to visit Manali with plan to visit Manikaran/Kullu, then one must stay here for at least one night.
Coming to our trip, we planned two nights tour to Manali, of which one night we stayed at this property. This happened to be the best decision we took about choosing hotel in this tour. We were four persons traveling together and stayed in the Royal Suit there, which is in the lower level, just adjacent to the Museum. We booked MAP plan there, and the hospitality was awesome, I seldom had such tasty food in a hotel, and though the offer was MAP, instead of making a buffet meal for all the guests, the offered personalized a-la-carte order for everybody.
The suit had one private balcony, and breathtaking views.
This should be in everybody's itinerary traveling to Manali.

Now for con side:
1. Regarding the suit, being adjacent to the Museum, which is on list of every tour package of Manali, people sometimes mistake this room as part of Museum, and try to entry, if doors are not locked.
2. The public toilet is also closeby, and sometimes it stinks, but once report to the manager, and in minutes they take care.

We stayed for 2 days, but if we had a choice we would have stayed on. We stayed in the Fozal Peak Suite. The view was breath taking. Rooms sizes are average though tastefully done up. Linen is average, funny thing about the food is that the food served in the restaurant tastes better than that served in the room, don't ask me why or how. The balcony of Fozal Peak suite is wondeful. It's awesome to sit on the sofa and write your travelogue and gaze at the snow covered Fozal Peak. Bird watchers might consider Fozal Peak suite stay as the tree near the balcony houses beautiful and vibrantly colored birds. Naggar's proximity to Manali makes Naggar castle a place to stay and make day trips to Manali. There are a few shops at the entrance of the Castle you could pick up some good fruit juices, squashes, wine etc. However the Moths can get to you. Due to commercialization the locality is rapidly changing. To experience the awesome stay at Naggar Castle on should plan fast.

The location of this property is probably the best in Naggar !!
You can view the hill, valley, river and highway, all at the same time from the valley facing rooms.
Down below the room balcony, you can view apple orchards.
Nice rooms, with small room heaters. Clean Bathrooms. Average Linen.
Nice breakfast, but average food for lunch and dinner.
A quiet location and a peaceful surrounding.
Must Visit..

Although we stayed here for only one day but the experience was just wonderful. We were put up in Fosal peak suite and the view from here was awesome with snowclad mountains forming the skyline and the green valley below forming a beautiful backdrop.

The property itself used to be the palace of the king and is completely made out of wood and stones. Though I must say it needs some renovation as at places the wood can be seen getting weak.

The staff here is very helpful and very courteous and always serve with a smile.
I wish I had more days to stay here but I am definitely coming back whenever I visit manali next.

Room Tip: Every room has a different view so depends on your choice and the time you are visiting.

I had stayed in the castle in a december when there was no snow. This time, i stayed in February when it was snowing heavily and so gave me a different experience. The courtyard was fully covered with snow and the entire area was deserted, except for us. We had a good time as couple, as there were no staring eyes to follow us or anybody disturbing our privacy..

The castle has many rooms and it's confusing while online booking which one to choose. My advice.

The best view goes to FOZAL PEAK room. The next is CASTLE VIEW. The rest have almost same and "nothing special" view. Courtyard rooms, Monal suite have less privacy as visitors are also allowed in the courtyard.

Royal suite is the costliest in the list, but it's location is BAD. The entrance is next to the Toilet and in a shady place near the museum. The only good thing about it is it's in two tiers. Hence if kids are also accompaniying you, then you may try it. Otherwise, stay away. Tragopan, Devika suites are of the same view.

The people there helped me to get a Anniversary Cake from the town below. MInd it, it was freezing cold there then, rods were blocked, still they managed it. I am grateful to them for that.

Overall my stay was special and amazing. Photos would describe the place better.

Room Tip: Fozal Peak is the best. Then comes Castle view.
