Previously Washbourne Court but this hasn't changed it at all. I got engaged here back in 2009 and had an amazing time. Roll top bath in our room! We came back for a mini honeymoon in July 2012 as our big one wasn't until November and still had a fantastic time. It's so relaxed and we got the same room! Food is amazing and the staff are very friendly! Once you arrive, you don't want to leave!

We booked for two nights at this Country Inn. The first night unfortunately no hot food available, this was out of the inn's control, but there was no offer of an alternative. We were informed that the dining room on out second night would be closed due to a wedding, but we were not informed that there would be music playing until midnight and that our room was next to this. So out peaceful country get away was far from this. The rooms are not of the quality of the website with décor needing some TLC. The bathrooms our good. For the money paid not of professional standard.

Room Tip: As far away from the dining room and driveway as the bins are collected at 7.00 a.m. as possible.

Dear Julie B, I am sorry that your stay was not all that it should have been. As you say, us not being able to offer cooked food on the friday, was beyond our control, we did however offer a choice of many local restaurants and pubs, and even paid for a taxi for one couple without transport.
.
Whenever we do have one of our few functions in the restaurant, we do always make sure that other guests are accomdated in one of our cottages, not in the main building, I am sorry if the music still disturbed you.

Best Wishes
Stuart

I booked this hotel as a surprise for my husbands special birthday. The minute we entered the hotel we were made to feel special. Our room was fantastic and there was a birthday card awaiting for my husband which was a very nice personal touch. The room was right on the front of the hotel overlooking the external drinking area with fabulous views. The bathroom was huge having a separate shower cubicle which was big and a separate corner bath. Eating in the restaurant was everything that I had expected and more the food and the service was excellent. I cannot wait to go back to this hotel and enjoy another visit. The staff are an asset to this hotel and deserve the recognition for all their hard work.

This is a perfect place to stay, right in the middle of the Cotswolds. The staff ate friendly and efficient and always ready to help . Our room was well appointed and extremely comfortable with the largest double bed I have ever seen. The large corner bath was a pleasant surprise. The only drawback was the alarmingly loud noise from the shower drain when in use. Thoroughly enjoyed the meals we had in the restaurant including wide selection of meals at breakfast and dinner. The hotel grounds are beautiful as as the surrounding area. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for coples and families.

We stayed 2 nights in a superior room and were so comfortable and impressed. We had our 2 golden retrievers with us and the staff were sincerely welcoming. Becca on reception showed us to our room and was extremely helpful and professional. We soon realised we should have booked for longer but were unable to extend our stay as the hotel was fully booked. Throughout our stay the wonderful Will was on hand to confirm table bookings for dinner in the bar or to advise on local walks and amenities. The walk through the village along the waters edge was one we enjoyed every day with the dogs. It was also lovely sit out and relax at the tables in the beautifully maintained grounds and enjoy a lunch or cold drinks. Although our original intention was to use the Inn as a base for sightseeing, we never did stray far from the Inn and didn't bother to dine elsewhere as we were so happy and welcome and comfortable where we were. I should stress we travel with our dogs so clearly didn't eat in the restaurant but the pub itself was comfortable and relaxed and perfect for our needs. and food of a high standard for typical pub food. The superior room had everything you could want with separate shower and roll top bath in the bathroom. We have already booked our next stay as I now understand why it gets so booked up. The breakfast is fantastic too and another example of how flexible the staff are is that each day they set a table for breakfast in the bar so we could eat apart from the other diners with our 2 dogs. We found the Lower Slaughters Inn to be the perfect blend of luxury, comfort and a warm welcome and we are really looking forward to our next stay. Thank you to all the staff who made us so welcome.

Room Tip: Common Lane was heavenly!

Spent a night here for a family celebration which all enjoyed. A very pleasant relaxing hotel in a beautiful location. The staff were friendly and attentive but not intrusive. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant (with decent wine list - enjoying a couple of bin end selections) and a very good breakfast. The more rustic bar was a nice spot for a relaxed drink. The birthday card in our parents room (the stay was to celebrate each reaching a milestone birthday) was a nice touch as were the folders in the room giving a little history of the hotel and the story behind each room's name. The rooms were good quality and comfortable with good sized bathrooms. Our only disappointment was having a room over the bar - not of itself a particular problem until the wedding party also staying returned from their celebrations at around 2:00 a.m. intent on continuing the with more music, singing and revelry all of which we could hear rather too well. The noise did stop promptly after we eventually called reception, but really it shouldn't have needed our prompt to achieve this. That said this is the only complaint we had in an otherwise enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms over the bar.

This Inn is situated in a beautiful location and most attractively refurbished, but for the high price of a night's stay we had expected better. Where were the towelling robes, the bedside lights (only 1 existed)? Why did I have to climb into the bath for my shower when the bathroom could have accommodated a separate shower? I'm getting older and appreciate the choice of bath or walk in shower. The staff where lovely people, very friendly but lacking in knowledge as if training had been brief, scanty even. We were dropped at the door of our rooms, no attempt to show us the layout. The food was of good quality but fine dining it was not. Although these are minor niggles (and the place was clean, comfortable beds) we expected better for the price.

Dear Wirralwanderer_12, I am pleased that over all you enjoyed your stay. To answer a few of your disappointments:

Our food offering is not fine dining, but good quality ingrediants cooked well.

All of our superior, jnr suites and suites all offer a seperate shower to the bath

Bathrobes are available on request.

I also think you will find us one of the best value Inn's in the Cotswolds.

If you would like to talk through any more points from your stay, please contact me at the Inn

Best regards
