“Nice apartment and great hosts”

This apartment is conveniently located near the main coastal road and is set back about 50 meters along a pedestrian only path. The gardens were lovely and led to a nice apartment on two floors. Downstairs was a kitchen, dining, sitting room and separate bathroom and up the spiral staircase were two exceptionally well appointed bedrooms - the views from the balcony off the main bedroom (with chairs, loungers and a table) were stunning. The balcony caught the sun all day and had shading that would be essential during the high summer.

The kitchen was well appointed with a good hob and oven, fridge freezer, small dishwasher and good selection of pans and crockery. There is a washing machine in the bathroom. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and functional but not as modern as the rest of the property - it did the job well enough.

There was a table and chairs in the garden for guest's use as preferred. Wifi was pretty good with just occasional outages.

Miko and his wife were very attentive hosts and Miko speaks good English. You could see his wife's influence in the jar of homemade marmalade left for us, the locally grown pomegranates and bottle of olive oil, fresh mint and the plate of fruit offered during our stay. The directions and access arrangements were perfect - they came down to the main road to help us in with our luggage and show us the way to the house and to help us out and say goodbye at the end. Lovely people!

Car parking was not all that far away, just across the main road in a quiet public car park aside the church. There are no local shops but there is a local restaurant just by the house. The nearest supermarket is about 4 miles away towards Dubrovnik.

The world heritage arboretum is within 5 minute's walk, Dubovnik is about 20 minutes away and the airport 45 minutes distant. With a car, it is easy to visit the Peljesac peninsular and take the ferry for a visit to Korcula and in the other direction to drive into Montenegro to visit Kotor and nearby towns. Mostar in Bosnia is reachable for a visit in a long day.

“Comfortable, Clean and Friendly”
Reviewed 3 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This apartment was beautiful, spacious and really clean. Everything you could possible need was there from even little things like tea, coffee, washing up/dishwasher liquid, We arrived to find homemade marmalade and olive oil and fresh herbs waiting for us. The garden around the apartment was stunning with orange trees and all sorts of beautiful plants.

The host and his family live close by and were all so lovely and helpful and really made our stay special. As a family of four with a nine and 14 year old, we found it a real bonus having someone to direct us to the best beaches and to be able to advise on parking and many other very useful information for someone new to Croatia.

We hired a car but realized that we could have done just as well without one, as this apartment is right across the road from the bus stop, (Croatian buses are really reliable and regular). There is also a good restaurant minutes from the apartment. And of course you are directly across the road from the famous Trsteno garden. It is also really close to Dubrovnik as it takes only about 30 minutes to get there by bus.

We loved our stay here, and again many thanks to Miko and his lovely family for making our introduction to Croatia so pleasant and memorable.
