“Perfect spot for two”
Reviewed 5 May 2014 for a stay in April 2014

Our stay here was bliss, we had an amazing host Colm, we had a warm welcome of biscuits and hot water bottles in the bed, the stove warmed up the whole place nicely.
Colm is very knowledgeable about the area and has plenty of advice on where to go.
Lots of little towns nearby to explore. I would certainly recommend!!

“amazing stay at this beautiful converted barn”

This was our 2nd stay at Crow's Hermitage in Co. Meath and it did not disappoint. Colm the host is so very welcoming, friendly and unobtrusive but around if you need anything. On arrival we had warm scone, jam, cream, and the beautiful wood burner already glowing and hot water bottles to warm the bed, you really could not ask for anything more - it was all perfect.

There is a wealth of information if you want to go out and about which we did on our last trip with lovely places to eat and outstanding scenery. The local pub is friendly with some fun characters who immediately welcomed you and were interested to hear where you were from etc.

We cannot wait to return in the summer, it just feels like a second home, so peaceful and relaxing the ideal retreat for those with busy lives.

I must also mention that if you want the best fish pie I have ever tasted then take a trip into Skerries to a pub/fish restaurant called Stoop Your Head and you will be hooked.

“Idyllic base for touring ancient Ireland”

We spent comfortable evenings here having spent our days touring the castles and monuments throughout Meath. The barn conversion is perfect for two with all mod cons. It is in beautiful countryside and is the perfect base from which you can drive or cycle to the coastlines of Bettystown and Skerries. We were blessed with beautiful weather but the rain wouldn't detract from the area that yo would be staying in. No more than a 20min drive to the bigger towns but there a fine pub across the road. Not to mention the wood burning stove.
I would not recommend this to anyone with mobility difficulties.

“A beautiful, romantic cottage with a friendly welcome”
Reviewed 18 April 2013 for a stay in April 2013

We had a wonderful time staying here on our honeymoon. Colin, our host, welcomed us with warm scones, cream and jam and gave us a wealth of information about the area, the history and places to visit.
The building is beautifully converted and thoughtfully kitted out with everything you could need as a couple - it was a lovely surprise to find warm hot water bottles in our bed on our first night!

The building is heated entirely by a wood burner (located in the living space on the ground floor) but as the house layout is almost entirely open plan, this doesn't pose too much of a problem. That said, if you're visiting in the colder months then you'll probably want to keep the fire going most of the time!

The cottage overlooks a 13th century abbey making for a romantic setting. The village itself, Ardcath, is quiet and rural with Bennett's pub as a focal point (less than a minute's walk from the cottage). The pub has a very welcoming and friendly atmosphere, free wifi and, of course, plenty of Guinness!

The location is ideal for day trips in to Dublin, travelling up the Irish coast and exploring some of Ireland's history. We also enjoyed some fantastic meals at local restaurants that were recommended to us by Colin.

All in all, a great place for a romantic break to see some of the sights Ireland has to offer. Clean, well-equipped and friendly - highly recommended!
