Stayed here on our third night in Spain, after car GPS sent us on a totally different road out of Potes (only worth discussing over beer). Gorgeous setting and superbly set up. The gardens are stunning, the pool and tennis court a bonus. The sangria on the verandah whiling the day away as the sun set was memorable. The rooms are unspectacular - but very clean, and the service exemplary. Breakfast is massive. All in all, a great stay, and the walks nearby are great if you have time.

Room Tip: Can have some noise from floors above, and restaurant below - avoid Level 1 over the restaurant. Try...

We have stayed a number of times at this hotel in the last 20 years and have enjoyed every visit.

Quite apart from the location, cleanliness, wonderful food, etc, the one thing above all is the unfailing friendliness of all the staff. They go out of their way to look after the guests and nothing is too much trouble for them.

Already looking forward to another visit next year!

This is a very special hotel located halfway up a valley in Cantabria.
It is owned and run by 3 sisters who have the place running like clockwork and they are also delightful and helpful.
Wonderful decor, great restaurant, and lots of outside space with good sized swimming pool in enclosed garden (which we were able to use twice in late June).
Other stall members were also fantastic with even the barman remembering our room number and preferences after one order.
Can`t think of any criticisms!
This place is a really beautiful hotel and amazingly good value - we would definitely go back for more.

Room Tip: Great outlook from higher floors

A pearl , every thing was on the spot. We enjoyed all the facilities and had a very good time in an amazing location. Service was immaculate, attentive and very well administrated. This location is better than Potes as it is much more calmer and nicer
Would love to come back and stay some more!

We – a family of 4 with 2 teenager daughters - spend 4 days in this wonderful hotel. The whole hotel exudes charm. In the afternoon coffee or perhaps a glas of wine can be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking a little creek. Be sure that the 2 lazy St. Bernhard dogs of the hotel is snoring on the patio. The whole staff are dedicated to make sure that their guest is relaxed and fells welcome. The food in the restaurant is excellent.

That describes how you are treated as a guest by the all female staff. It is so obvious they all get along and enjoy helping visitors enjoy a visit to the Picos. Even thought we stayed at some superb Paradores, I think we will remember our stay here the most. The view from our room, the amenities and the meals were all excellent. How many times do you hug the waitresses before you leave after a three day stay as they have become friends? We loved this place. We did take the funicular up and did the hike down from there--well worth it. The location allows you access to several other hikes.

Room Tip: Stay in the main building and pay for a view of the Picos.
