“Interesting diversion”
Reviewed 28 September 2012

Nice to walk around but not so much to see. So much more restoration to do. Nice to walk around the battlements and to see an oval moated house.

If you like castles this one is spectacular and one of the best of the many we have visited in France. You cannot be disappointed.

“worth a visit”
Reviewed 18 July 2012

if you like castles then you will enjoy this one. You get an English printed guide, it has a lovely tapestry in one of the rooms and you can explore the castle.
Be aware rooms are bare and it will only take about an hour for your visit.

“Stunning, stunning, stunning.”

This chateau could not be more beautiful, like a fairytale! Bear in mind though, it's closed for lunch 12-2.

“Absolute gem”
Reviewed 10 June 2012

If you visit Normandy, get the map out and find this fantastic chateau. It's set in beautiful greenery. From the car park you walk through three gates to the ticket office. The castle itself is moated with some pretty outbuildings to explore first, including one containing a Bayeux style tapestry sewn in the 70s. Across the drawbridge and into a beautiful courtyard. You then go into the house itself with various rooms before going up to the top (some steep steps and low beams) for a great view. Then it's along the ramparts and back down. We nearly didn't bother visiting this but were very glad we did. Fantastique!
