“Religious Tranquility at its best!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014

The Kollur Mookambika Temple is located around 30Kms from Kundapura on the west coast of India. One of the best temples of goddess Parvati, it is considered the seat of learning. While all days are auspicious here, the Saraswati Puja day is considered very auspicious for Vidyarambam - initiation into learning for young ones. Tuesday, Friday & Sundays see heavy rush of pilgrims, especially from Kerala, other days are relatively less crowded and you can have a great darshan of the goddess. Ensure you pray at the saraswati mandap to enhance your knowledge abilities. When in temple ensure you take a ticket for any puja that wish to undertake and give the same to priests inside. The river sowparnika flows around 1Km from the temple. There is ample lodging facilities and good car parking. KSRTC buses are available from Mangalore / Bangalore apart from trains on Konkan Railway. If time permits, you can visit Kodachadri, the location of the temple installed by Shree Shankaracharya.

“A rare blend of nature and religion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014

Mookambika Temple located in Karnataka and the Kudajadri Hills forms an enormous picturesque background for the temple. There is accomodation facility available through many small to medium lodges and hotels near the temple. A tip if given to the priests inside can get us some special 'darshan' of the deity.
