We stayed with 9 friends in Raja Laut in March and had a very good time. The food is good (especially the curry and the eggplant) and the staff is very friendly. We also took the PADI open water here and it was very good as well! Amedeo is a very good instructor, the equipement is in good state, and the diving in Bunaken is just amazing!

Recently spent a week at this resort and had a great time. The dive shop is well appointed and the resort is nicely set up. The staff was attentive and responded nicely to any special requests that we had. The diving was excellent. There was a problem with some gear and the owner was quick to discount the dive and address the issue. The food was very good and once again the staff had no issue with addressing any requests that we had. Overall I very much enjoyed my time on Bunaken and Raja Laut and hope to be able to return sometime and do it again.

Room Tip: Have a good back and forth with the owner on email and make sure you ask for what you want.

I have stayed at other dive resorts on Bunaken and none compare to Raja Laut. The cottages are immaculately kept and have wonderful views of the ocean and mountains and the sunrises are just spectacular.

The food is great, the staff are helpful and friendly and the atmosphere is just so relaxing. The diving is fantastic and Roberto the general manager and dive master is a wealth of knowledge, and if you have never dived before you will not find better teachers than Roberto and staff.

All in all I cannot fault Raja Laut so much so I am returning in April for a longer stay.

Forget the rest and stay at the best Raja Laut 10/10 thank you to Roberto and his staff for a fantastic experience.

I passed through Pulau Bunaken during a RTW Trip back In December 2012. Roberto the owner was very friendly and accommodating to me. The resort is spotless, the food great, and the awesome people there complete the package. I had a great time!!! We were even treated to a pig roast for Christmas dinner. I enjoyed the fact that the resort is very personal and focuses on small one on one interaction and small dive groups.

Stay:
Nice and cozy resort for divers. 4 wooden bungalows, all of them with ocean view and nice terrace. Very clean and spacious rooms with spotless bathrooms partially without the roof which is very smart in the hot&humid climate! Bungalows are being cleaned every second day or more often if you ask. Staff is very friendly and they will surely help you with all you need.

Eat:
The owner is Italian you can count on some pasta every now and then which is nice for a change. That said the Indonesian cook makes miracles every day. Fresh fish in all sorts of spices, sambals and curries, tempe, fried chicken or vegetables in curries, some fruits for desert. We've stayed there for 7 days and never found anything which we wouldn't like.

Dive:
Bunaken is almost all wall diving. Very healthy corral, very colorful, lots of reef fish including occasional big stuff. We've seen a couple of reef sharks, eagle rays, many napoleons, dozens of turtles. It's beautiful and very relaxing. On almost every dive you will find something beautiful. The resort has 2 boats - small and big. The small one looks like a little twin sister of the bigger one. Both are in a very good condition, and comfortable. Staff on the boat is friendly and in between the dives you can count on some water, tea and biscuits. Unlike other cheaper places which dive only in front of the resorts Raja Laut will take you to all the dive spots around the island. Dive guide we dove with was knowledgeable and very focused on finding interesting stuff. Not so much focused on babysitting the divers so weather you're a beginner or not you need to control your air, time, depth etc yourself. If you are a complete beginner you may want to ask Roberto (the owner) to dive with you instead. When we were in Raja Laut Roberto was teaching a couple of OWD and they were all happy about the way he did it. Roberto is a very friendly and open person who has seen a lot and been to a lot of places so chatting with him is a real pleasure.

We would certainly recommend Raja Laut. We had a great time, in a wonderful place with tasty food and fantastic diving. Great place, great diving.
