I stayed in Panorama based on recommendation of a traveler I had met along the way in Sulawesi. And it didn't disappoint. If you like diving, you'll enjoy Bunaken's natural beauty and the sheer drops in walls all around the island. On my third day in the island, we can see it was raining in Menado and rubbish collected up in Liang beach, but a boat ride away for diving and enjoying some sun in the boat, it was still very good day. The rubbish in the beach is definitely a problem that the people in the area have to address, quite a shame as the diving and natural beauty of Bunaken is priceless.
Some of the highlights I saw while diving include pygmy seahorse, Orangutan crab, blackjack tuna and 4 sharks! The dive master and Sven (German guy who manages the place) is very professional and delight to spend time with. Sven gives great recommendation on which dive sites to go depending on the number of dives you'll be doing in the trip.
And the family that manages the accommodation is also very pleasant. There's not once I felt lack of good quality home cooked quality food. They even provide fruits in between meals with coffee and tea all day long. Good dives and great food make this place a star!
