Looking for a restaurant on our second day in the lovely and authentic town Toro, we decided for Restaurante Sarmiento. Behind the bar and café you will find a fine restaurant with a very nice and modern interior. The wine cellar is nicely integrated behind glass. As starters we had pie with foie gras and apple and a salade with goat cheese, walnuts, raisins and balsamico. As main courses we had tortellini with shrimps and merluza (hake, white fish) with cockles and peas. And the dessert was a chocolate mousse. The Toro wine was excellent, the food delicious, the waiters were very friendly and the price was very good. Sarmiento is an excellent choice, if you visit this wonderful town.
