Although this hotel has some points they need to modernise, it is just beautiful.
The hotel is a genuine castle, all the suites are different but they are all wonderful.
The staff is not the typical 5star hotel staff. They give you a real warm-hearted welcome.
Arriving at Torre del Remei feels like coming home, this is if your home is a castle and you are a king!
A plus are the hydro-tubs in the bathrooms.

The food in the restaurant is simply superb.

Room Tip: All the rooms are wonderful. The suites are great.

This is a delightful hotel in beautiful grounds close to the French border. The food is exquisite, the staff friendly and helpful and we wished we had had longer than just two days there. The delight of sitting outside in warm autumnal sunshine surrounded by chestnut trees is hard to beat. The room (we had a first floor suite with small balcony) was comfortable, clean and with a separate sitting area and large bathroom. The hotel isn't cheap, but the gourmet packages are good value and imaginative cooking of this standard is a real find. We love everything about the hotel and would be happy to recommend and return some day.

For the first time, with regard to many of our reviews it is difficult to know where to start in expressing how wonderful this hotel is towards all its guests. It is an absolutely marvellous building, with an exceptional interior and fascinating history. The staff at the hotel in all respects treated us as their long lost relatives. We were made to feel completely at ease from the very moment of our arrival to our departure. Our only regret is that we stayed one night. This will be rectified because we will return. On our arrival we had a problem with our hire car which had developed an oil leak. Normally, this would involve some frustration and difficulty on the part of any guest however, the reception staff simply took over the whole issue, solved it and we had no anxiety whatsoever. They had no need to do so, it was potentially quite complex but they took on the task with absolute confidence. In fact, our car was replaced the next morning and they helped with the translation of the contractual documents etc. The staff and in particular Nuria and Ana are sublimely kind and efficient. This is a truly exceptional hotel. We occupied Room 2 which is beautiful with a marble fireplace, stucco ceiling and French Windows leading to a large balcony overlooking the countryside. We dined at the hotel in one of the most classically beautiful dining rooms we have experienced with elegant furniture and very tasteful art on the walls. It was also an exceptional dining experience. We had the tasting menu and it was sublime This was also the case in relation to breakfast which was so different, delicately prepared with local produce and superbly presented. You have to go there in order to experience it. We have no niggles or adverse comments. Everything is perfection. We would strongly recommend it for a relaxed stay when all the cares of ordinary life can be swept away. We cannot speak highly enough of it. We would love to return.

We spent one night here and it was fabulous. Our suite was gorgeous with an amazing bathroom. The hotel was very inviting. A wonderful hike was suggested to us not too far away. It was very romantic and would make for a perfect couples getaway. We didn't eat at the restaurant but it looked and smelled excellent.

I stayed at Torre Del Remei a few years ago, and will never forget it. Because of flight delays, my husband and I did not leave Barcelona for our drive to this hotel in the Pyrenees until midnight – arriving there at 3am in the rain and without my luggage. Needless to say, I was not in the best mood. But our hosts checked us in and asked if we were hungry. Within minutes, one of the best meals I’ve ever had was delivered to our room: salad greens from the garden mixed with local wild strawberries, Serrano ham, tomato bread, olives and some cheese. So simple, and so delicious. We had this with some red wine in the middle of the night and my mood improved significantly.
The hotel is elegant and luxurious – like a storybook castle. The huge rooms are full of antique furniture, and the marble bathrooms have heated floors. Incredible food in the restaurant is very refined with imaginative use of local ingredients, many coming from the chef’s garden on the grounds. This is a very special place.
