Me and my partner stayed here as we were in the area at short notice. Maggie welcomed us warmly and the room was pleasent and clean. After a lovely and well resting evening breakfast was delicious and Maggie was a brilliant host. Nothing was too much trouble and if the oppertunitly to come here again pops up THIS IS THE PLACE TO STAY!

Thank you . Linsey & Graham xx

We have just returned from our stay at the Old Mill House, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Maggie is a great host and her food excellant. My husband especially enjoyed the locally caught pheasant, and the home made apple pie was delicious. Our room, which overlooked the mill pond, was very comfortable. We would definitely recommend a stay there.

Room Tip: The room at the top had a lovely view of the mill pond and surrounding countryside.

We stayed the night en-route to Cornwall. Wonderful hospitality, friendly and very welcoming. A very pleasant and comfortable room overlooking the mill pond. Not a sound from the A36 nearby.Great history, beautifully refurbished and fascinating furnishings. We strongly recommend the full English breakfast. First class cooking

Had a super relaxing 2 days B&B in room overlooking the pond. Every need catered for and very comfortable. Breakfast was really good-being a vegetarian, Maggie prepared me a delicious fruit salad each morning. My partner enjoyed the smoked trout with scrambled eggs. I would highly recommend a stay here.

We arrived in Salisbury on a whim and found the tourist information office 5 minutes after it had closed. We contacted the Old Mill House from amongst information available from the notice boards outside the Salisbury tourist information office. Not only were they exceptionally kind and helpful, our hosts navigated us successfully through a raining Salisbury evening to the mill house - even though we were beset with roadworks and street closures and needed to make a couple of detours.

The accomodation was warm and comfortable, and housed the five of us in comfort. Nothing was too much trouble, and everything we needed (and more) was available. Breakfast was delicious, and fortified us well for the day ahead. The Old Mill house itself sits within a delightful setting, and there was something to interest all of us. Maggie and Brian were excellent hosts - making us feel quite welcome and giving us the benefit of their local knowledge with regard to suggestions for things to see.

We would highly recommend the accomodation, and will look for it as our preferred accomodation in the Salisbury region.

Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

After making reservations 8 months in advance, we arrived mid-afternoon to learn that our hostess had neglected to put us in her book and we had no where to stay on a busy Friday night! This was quite a shock to me, for I had emailed her the week before not so much to confirm, but to ask for advise on receiving and holding a piece of mail for us...which she said she could do. She was quite flustered and apologetic, immediately set about trying to find accommodations for us and even driving with us just up the road. Her place looked lovely and I wish I could write a review saying how wonderful it was, however I feel that folks should be advised that when you book, before you arrive, make sure to call and specifically ask, make sure that she hasn't lost your reservation! As it turned out, the place she found for us could only cover us for one night...and the next day...a Saturday, we had to drive out of the area and spend about £30 more than we had planned on spending.

Room Tip: Since she does not take deposits, email or call a week in advance to confirm

We are extremely sorry about the booking error with Mr and Mrs Pappas. As it was eight months in advance I forgot to transfer it to the 2012 diary(I had a hip transplant on the 28th December and was not thinking straight!) We would be happy to offer a free nights stay if at any time they are here again.

We arrived at the Old Mill House after a day's cycling from South Devon - Our host gave us a warm welcome and accommodated our five bicycles in a dry secure barn - part of the mill com plex that absolutely exuded history and character. The main house was incredible - as many of the other reviews described, it was full of antiques and memorabilia what created a impression of peace and stability. The grounds at the back were stunning. My room was comfortable, spacious and had a en-suite shower room which was self-contained close to the back door - great choice. The full English breakfast was comprehensive and filling - served in the dining room on the first floor. The only disappointment was that the local hostelry was not serving food on a Saturday night for some inexplicable reason and the other options were too far to walk after 90 miles of cycling. We ended up getting an expensive taxi to a mediocre Indian restaurant in Wilton.

Room Tip: Loved my room in the basement next to the back door.
