With old, colonial style cottage-type rooms (ours also had a kitchenette) in a sprawling complex very close to the beach, this property is very good, worth staying again and again.

Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, linen is reasonably good. Kitchenette is well equipped. Mosquito net canopy could be better. Mattress had outlived its life.

Breakfast is poor. Food just average. Free drink was pathetic.

Our room had no wifi coverage. Front desk staff attributing this to "bad weather" was not only wrong but also showed lack of respect for our intellectual capability.

This hotel is a sprawling complex of traditional-style houses of a few rooms each. There is a central pool/bar/restaurant area. It's a short walk to the beach and they have deals with a few of the facilities for free beach chairs. The unit we had was showing signs of age, but had a new kitchenette. It was comfortable and felt like a private home. I wouldn't call it a value at $200, but it was the cheapest hotel in Orient Bay.

Orient Bay is a suburbanish gated community of hotel complexes like this along with vacation home developments of one and two story buildings. There are a string of bar/restaurant facilities along the beach as well as a little square of restaurants in town. Besides that, there are a few shops, but no market. If you want to self-cater, you need a car. If you want to stay in an artificial all-inclusive resort, this is not the place for you. This is more of a real town, although a vacation-oriented one. Most people staying here are French, although there are a fair number of Americans and Canadians. The demographics seemed to be mostly older couples or families, although there were a fair amount of younger couples. This is a quiet and peaceful place to relax, and definitely not a place to party.

This is truly a wonderful place. We had a great time in St. Martin and La Plantation was so perfect for us. The place is very well run in every way and the staff is so warm and helpful. The studio we were in was spacious and clean with everything in working order. We did not rent a car but were able to walk to many different restaurants and take taxis to/from airport and to Grand Case for dinner. We loved the French pastries and bread, fresh fruits, and yogurt for breakfast and the setting was very pleasant by the pool. It was very quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. I would definitely return again.

Room Tip: Our studio was at the top of the hill and I think our view of the water was the best! Kind of a hike...

We stayed here as a couple and enjoyed our stay. The hotel rooms are more like private cabins. Very quiet and very clean spacious rooms Large. Private balcony and lovely pool and restaurant area. Good fresh breakfast included The staff went over and beyond to help us out during our stay. The location is walking distance within 10 mins to the beach and many shops and restaurants. I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: close to the pool

I spent one night to catch the ferry to Anguilla the day after
The hotel looks like a camping ground. The room is spacious but poorly decorated. Lots of mosquitos too.
The bathroom is quite large, but the toilet is old fashion and the screen of the window broken
The swimming pool is small, but with a nice deck
The restaurant is just below average and the breakfast is sufficient
The lobby closed at about 9-10 pm and reopens only at 9 am. I called the front desk for helping us in bringing ours baggage to the taxi, but after 20' minutes none showed up, so we decided to do by ourselves.
The beach is small and not well preserved and you need to walk down from the hotel passing besides horrible houses and apartments
I am surprised how can people spend there more than a day !

Well kept, clean, ideal location. The staff is helpful, and reactive. We had rented a bottom level appartement, and it appears that it is enough as far as the view goes. All bedrooms are independent small houses. The ones with view are simply higher on the hill...not sure the view is a lot better.
Breakfast is buffet style, quite simple, but with fresh fruits, fruit salad, omelette...nothing but good things to say about it.
Hotel clients have complimentary transats on the beach, as many as guests covered by the booking, and most of the expenses can be charged on the room. Convenient !

Room Tip: The rooms are scattered in small houses all over a hill. All houses are single storey : there are t...

Property was well kept. Welcome beverage provided. Should include a partial voucher to encourage Dining In for in -House Dinner guests. Pool seemed to need minor cleaning. Room: Water pressure good & Hot/ in Unit Fridge Cold / Kitchenette adaquately stocked/ Even showed 2nd unit for choice of Varying Floor plan(s) & Ocean View. Mosquito Netting should be washed on King Bed more often. Breakfast Buffet (incl) adaquate , But needed some "changing Up" for longer stays. Breakfast Meat should be provided,& not be special Request. Property felt Secure. Recommend car rental for most mobility & Island dining vs. Taxi & Airport transfers Costs. Close enough to beach / long walk or Bicycle. Wtih hills & beach distance, Only recommendation for Handicapped is with 24/7 Transportation,.
Property is good $$ Value.

Room Tip: As always , Ask if any additional rooms are available upon Arrival.
