Just returned from a great 8 night stay here - we had a huge 'room' which was subdivided into a living area, kitchen area and separate bedroom and bathroom. Lots of character and great views from our porch area. Our two kids had plenty of space on a sofa bed and an extra camp bed that they put in the living area as well. Only a short walk to the beach and restaurants which suited us just fine. The internet did not reach our room, but was fine in the reception and dining area. Breakfast a nice buffet with plenty of fresh fruit and good coffee. The front desk were really helpful and booked several trips for us. it was low season, so quiet and relaxing. No problems at all.

If you're looking for ritzy and glamorous, go somewhere else! This hotel was charming and quaint, and the perfect place for a romantic getaway. I had to convince my wife that it was worth staying a 5 minute walk from the beach, as she wanted to stay right on the water, but since it is built on a hill, you had wonderful views! We definitely did not regret our decision!

The hotel is really a series of villas, and our room could connect to the rest of the villa if we had a larger party. There is also an upper section and lower section, and I definitely recommend the upper section for the better views.

Breakfast was delightful - french bread and pastries, eggs, fruit, ham, and coffee/juice. It was definitely fresh and much better than a breakfast served at any chain hotel in the states. If I stayed for a week, I would probably venture somewhere else for breakfast for a change of pace once or twice. We also ate here for dinner one night. The food was definitely wonderful, but a little pricey. However, we found that most of the restaurants in Orient were more expensive anyway.

We didn't use the pool, but be advised that the pool is right next to the restaurant (literally)! We sat next to the pool for breakfast and dinner. It wasn't crowded, but I think it would be a little strange to swim in the pool with people all around you watching. With the excellent beach, though, we didn't need to bother with the pool.

What else do you need to know? Bed was comfy, loved the walk in shower, the hotel staff were friendly, and we're talking about coming back next year. We're even trying to convince other family members to join us! And definitely come during low season. The weather was perfect, and it was definitely not crowded.

One last note - major thanks to the hotel for picking up our room key. We forgot to give it to them at checkout, and didn't realize it until after we dropped off our rental car, so they were gracious enough to pick it up later!

Room Tip: Pay extra for the upper level rooms!

Just returned and very happy with location.
Breakfast was the same every morning, but was all you needed.
Very quiet and a short walk to the beach.
A/C worked well kept room cool.
Stayed on the lower level still had a nice view of the ocean.
Front desk very nice and helpful with directions and booking excursions.
Rented a car and drove all over the island.
Went to CO COs on the beach everyday and ordered drinks and service was very good.
You just show them your card from La Plantation. Chair and umbrella is taken care of. You are just billed for your drinks and eats when you check out.
There is a safe in the room so you can leave your money and cards in the room when at the beach.
The electrical outlets are the two prong round kind, so you will need a adapter to charge devices.
Short drive to grand case if you are going there, for dinner.
Used the pool some for swimming. Very Clean.
Grocery stores close by if you want get drinks to keep in the mini fridge.
Took laptop and sat in office when needed to use wifi.
Very happy with my Stay.

The hotel rooms were more like free standing villas. I was surprised by how big the room was, it was more like an apartment. There was a kitchen, a living area, and a terrace for sitting. The WIFI was very weak at my room, which was very close to the office. That was my only gripe. The best part is that this place includes a free breakfast and it's a substantial one. Not just coffee and croissants, like some other local hotels. I'll definitely come back here. I'd just like some WIFI in the room please.

Hotel reception manager, Lisette, was absolutely wonderful and exceeded our expectations. We had a few minor problems with electrical service outages, but she was adept at handling our concerns. The hotel was a little difficult to find at first-- better signage would certainly help. The hotel is built into side of mountainous terrain, so accommodations are on several levels and not easily accessible by anyone who has problem with climbing. Once we reached our room , there were steep stone stairs with no handrail walking down to the entrance to the room. We were upgraded to a suite, which was wonderful -- vaulted ceilings , kitchenette, large bathroom with walk in shower. The in room safe was in the cabinet underneath the bathroom sink and was very difficult for us ( 65 +) to access. We had to get down on our knees and practically climb in to use the safe. Our bed was encircled with mosquito netting, which was definitely a necessity. The included breakfast was the same each day, croissants were delicious , but got monotonous after the fourth day. We enjoyed our stay but probably would not choose this one again. Would recommend for
younger people.

Great location just off Orient beach, nestled on a hill overlooking the bay in a neighbourhood of villa's. Nice to be able to walk to the beach and retire to your own patio surrounded by lush gardens and panoramic views in a quiet setting. Our room had a full size fridge and kitchen, huge bathroom and shower to match.Hotel stay includes beach chairs and umbrellas at choice of three locations on Orient beach. Big supermarket down the road came in handy and a five minute drive into Grand Case to visit the LoLo BBQ stands for a great deal on a meal and some of the finest dining restaurants in the Carribean. Do not limit yourselves to all inclusives on this Island, the food is outstanding and the included breakfast at La Plantation was no exception. For what has become a highly developed, busy Island this hotel offers a tranquil ambiance, if it's grand luxury and glamour your looking for, or a raving party spot, move on. For those that prefer the laid back relaxation of the Carribean than I highly recomend. We rented a car from the airport for our entire stay, probably paid for itself with savings by being able to stock our fridge and bar at will. Relativley safe to travel the Island and visit the towns, although we never ventured beyond Grand Case at night, winding roads heavily travelled by everything on wheels, lanes and speed are just a suggestion. Been to the Carribean and surroundings over 20 times, I have found my spot.

Room Tip: Only stayed in one room and it was great. Some rooms high up hill and car came in handy, Others are...

We have stayed at his little piece of paradise for 10 summer now. It is a charming small hotel with a beautiful view Orient Bay. The staff is outstanding, always helpful and like a family. The rooms are well maintained and clean. Lush gardens surround each villa where you will see cute little humming birds. You are within walking distance to both the beach and the cute village with restaurants and bars. Although almost everyone speaks English you are feel like you are in a quaint French town. Breakfast is awesome as are the two lovely ladies who great you with a beautiful smile each morning. Although my husband and I go for a romantic getaway each year I would be perfect for a large family since the villas have three adjoining rooms which can be opened up. The other past reviews say it all! If you are looking for a modern, sleek "American" property this is not it...this is a charming small hotel with great service and terrific location. It is as close to perfect place as you will ever be! I do recommend renting a car since it is a well worth it drive from the airport, but you will also want the car to go to restaurants in Grand Case as well as shopping in Phillipsburg or Margot ( you cannot get lost the main road circles the island).

Room Tip: All rooms have a view with the gardens, ask for a room with a view of the bay. All upper level room...
