Just got back after 11 days at the Pegasus and found is great value for money. The staff are really friendly and take time to chat to you. Smoking is supposed to be banned inside but it still happens - just a small gripe. Stayed B&B, breakfast which is, bread, cereals, eggs, ham, cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, cake, fruit juice, tea and coffee. You can do your own taost and boil your own eggs. Breakfast area was very clean and tidy and the breakfast waitress was very friendly. You can also sit outside for breakfast - beware the smokers though. The pool is the best around, very clean with a good size children's area. Our daughter loved it. We never had to fight for a sun bed, plenty around. Great hotel for a young family. Rooms are fairly large, we had a room for two adults + child age 9 and found it more than adequate. However, there was no kettle etc, hairdryer and we had to pay for the fridge. Didn't mind paying for safe + aircon but objected to paying for the fridge! Baloncy is a good size overlooking the gardens, none of them overlook the pool though. It is near the road and can get noisey. We did have a few nights where it disturbed our sleep. This was also due to some inconsiderate guests banging doors when coming back at night- would recommend some door stops. But generally it is OK. They have sky sports in the lobby but you'll need to ask them what's on as they don't advertise it. Other than that there was no other entertainment at the hotel. The tennis court area is out of use and derelict. Roda is a quite village has some good restuarants and bars. We found the fish expensive though, being a fishing village we were looking forward to some nice fresh fish at a good price but couldn't find many. Beach is OK and shallow, you can walk out quite far and is less than 10 mins from hotel and easy to get to. If you go to Maggie's restuarant, which serves good size tasty meals, don't forget to give her a donation as she does a lot of voluntary work looking after the local stray animals. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend Pegasus to our friends and family.

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday based at this hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful and helped us to extend our Greek vocabulary! The pool is one of the best we have ever had and definitely the best one we`ve ever had in Greece. It is huge. There are tons of sunbeds and no-one felt the need to put the towels down to save a bed. There were people from outside the hotel who came to use the pool and even then there were plenty of beds to go round.
It is situated on the main road through Roda and we had a room at the front so there was some traffic noise.
It is a short walk to tavernas, shops and the beach but it is a pleasant walk and we enjoyed the small amount of exercise that it provided!
We liked Roda. It`s quite small and not very busy. I thinks it`s particularly suited to families with young children. We had a 17 and 20 year old with us and the night life was a little tame for them but they still enjoyed it for a relaxing break.

The Pegasus bedrooms have recently been re decorated and is a vast improvement since my last visit, the staff are the best, the breakfast are still basic but this reflex on the price. My friend and i and non smokers and must say the reception area was very smokey with quests smoking all the time, The smell drifed to our rooms which spoilt our stay. For this reason i would not visit again unless there is a total ban on smoking in side the hotels.

The staff at the Pegasus are keen to help, always available for a chat and advice on where to go, what to see and how to get there. Some of the larger more expensive hotels should send their staff here to take lessons on how to treat guests.
Our room was large by any standards, clean and well furnished and had a large balcony with table and chairs. The view was beautiful in the mornings as the sun rose (see photo).
The bathrooms are equipped with shower, toilet and sink and are perfectly adequate without being palatial.
One word of warning though, when having a shower it is almost impossible to prevent water getting onto the stone tiles on the floor of both the bath/bedroom, this makes the floor very slippery, my girlfriend fell twice.
The breakfast room downstairs extends out onto a patio (nice touch) and you can eat either in or out, we sat out every morning with our typical Greek fare of bread, cheese, ham, jams, eggs, madeira cake (very nice) and assorted cereals.
The swimming pool at the rear of the hotel is enormous with plenty of sunloungers and parasols, not once did I have a problem finding a lounger no matter what time of day.
A snack bar (lovely bacon and egg sandwiches for dinner, try Greek bacon yum), a bar in the centre of the pool reached by one of two bridges and a childrens play area are also in this area.

Downsides: The air conditioning, safe and fridge in the rooms are all payable on arrival (if required) and will cost around 70 Euros per week.
Due to a mix up, on our arrival at 2am there were only two beds in our room for 2 adults and a child, I ended up staying in a seperate room for the first night. However all credit to the staff who were very apologetic, found a spare room and sorted the problem out early the next morning.

The Pegasus is set back from a busy main road around a 10 minute walk from the beach. There is a large bar on the corner with a free play area and bouncy castle for young children. The play area is fenced off and parents can sit and relax and have a few Mythos while the kids tire themselves out. Going down the main road towards the beach you will find a plethora of shops, bars and restaurants which continues along the sea front. The beach is a mixture of stones and sand and there are plenty of sunloungers and parasols to be hired (2 loungers and a parasol will cost 7 euros per day).
Peddle boats and canoes can be hired at several places along the beach as can various motor boats, a 15Hp boat costs around 30 euros per hour including fuel.
Eating out I recommend Newport towards the end of the beach serving fresh fish, steaks and traditional Greek food. My own favourites were Lamb Kleftiko (around 9 Euros) and Sea Bass (around 17 Euros depending on size of fish). An average meal for 2 adults and a child came to 30 Euros including drinks!

Out and about both Kassiopi (lots of shops and a beautiful harbour) and Sidari are a must, if you do visit Sidari follow the signs for "Canal D'Amour" to find some of the best scenery on Corfu. We had a lovely meal and several pints of Mythos in a restaurant overlooking the sea.....and there are worse ways of spending the day!

The best part of our holiday would have to be the food at Newport restaurant which was excellent (think 5 pounds on in a week) and the Pegasus itself was superb, I would definitely stay here again!

The worst part......having to leave and go home!!!!!!

To conclude, if you are the type of person who must have a bidet to wash their bum then look elsewhere, if like myself you want nothing more than clean rooms and a warm friendly atmosphere then the Pegasus is for you.

Thanks for taking the time to read this admittedly very long review.
Mark

When we arrived we were greeted by very freindly staff , who remained very friendly throughout our entire stay. The staff were always happy to help us and nothing seemed too much trouble, they were happy to arrange excursions and taxis and also give us recommendations for the local resteraunts and attractions.
The location of the hotel is great - literally a few minutes walk away to the centre of Roda which had numerous gift shops, bakery ( ran by English people who were also very helpful) , convenuince stores selling suncream etc. and plenty of varied resteraunts including Chinese, Italian, Greek and American style Grill bars. From the hotel the beach is easily walkable and transport links to neighbouring towns are cheap and easy (we caught the bus) however hiring a car or scooter is easy as you can hire one from the centre of Roda.
My favourite resteraunt was Roda Park but all of the places we ate were good quality at a really good price - you can eat an evening meal with 3 courses for under 20 Euros quite easily! The rooms at the Hotel were very clean and attractive - all having necessary air con! Our room also had a blacony which was very pleasant to sit out on.
By far the best part of the whole holiday is the pool area, which is absolutely lovely. The pool area does get busy in the middle of the day but there is still always enough loungers for those who want, sitting by the pool is so relaxing and trhe best bit is the bar in the middle of the pool accessed by a bridge over the pool. The bar serves amazing cocktails perfect for cooling down by the pool! As well as the snack bar being close to the pool serving deciious snacks that can be eaten around the pool.
This hotel was amazing and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday.

This hotel is rated 3* but probably deserves to be 3*+ (or even 4* for friendliness!). It is exceptionally clean, with a gorgeous pool area with bar and snack bar. There are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, you simply help yourself to a mattress from where they are stored around the edge of the pool.
The rooms are very nicely furnished and decorated, however you do experience some road noise as the hotel is just off the main road.
The breakfast is the standard Greek offering (cereals, toast, cake, ham, cheese, boiled eggs, tea or coffee), and is served between 7.30am and 9.30am. The breakfast room extends to the terrace so you can eat inside or out.
It is a ten minute walk to the beach, although there are numerous bars and restaurants en route, all of which have welcoming staff. We found the prices generally to be better than expected.
The beach is mostly sandy with a few pebbles at the waterline, but nothing too bad, and the sunbeds are 2.50 euros each. There are plenty of snack bars just off the beach for lunch or drinks.
The restaurants of Roda are all of a good standard, and serve a similar range of typically Greek food. We found the restaurants facing the beach to be slightly more expensive than those on the side road. The staff at all the restaurants we visited were all very friendly, and would often join you at your table after you'd eaten for a chat.
Most of the bars (of which there are approx 10) have organised entertainment such as tribute acts, karaoke, quizzes, etc - take your pick! These bars are most certainly aimed at the British tourist, however there are also one or two quieter chill-out bars.
I would recommend this resort and hotel for a cheap and cheerful break in the sun.
