OMG!!! Do not stay at this hotel !!!!!!!!
Had the most horrendous night of my life, after getting dropped off in the early hours of the morning in pitch blackness, being pointed in the direction of a building a d the coach drivers saying hotel there!!! Where????
Well finally got to this smelly hotel(oops) Semeli, to find no reception, no one to greet us, only a scribbled note saying, key in door , no 11,,,, great took us 5 mins to find the b*** room
I thought great somewhere to lay our head arrhhhhhhhh, oooppppssss what a mistake
On opening the c,,p door!!! A crappy sort of wardrobe was in front of us with doors that didn't close and whole place smelt,. We were busting for the toilet well that was an experience ha! Ha!
Sat on the toilet to be eaten by toilet seat lol, then thought were shower ohhh no,,, no hot water great big crack in the shower tray, shower taps looked like they had not been cleaned and lime scale was so thick you needed a angle grinder to chip it away, shower thing, I say thing was just dangling and had no where to hang it. Shower curtain well think that was bought In 1970, dirty, didn't fit and curtain rail was rusty great!!!!
Went into the sort of bedroom where on great 1 plug!!! Woohoo , insuffient, light plug was so dirty got my wet ones out to tough it, oh the air condition well if you think a rusty old fan is air condition great!!!!
Beds were like laying on bricks, 1 sheet was all we had on the beds, pillow was as thin as cardboard, by this time we were hysterical with laughter and were looking for you've been framed camera,,,,
Oh had a lovely fridge in the very small bedroom to which made such a noise , it rattled and rolled all night long lol
1 curtain at the windows is this a new craze of just hotel being tight
Opened rusty shutters with a push and a shove, then took ages to get the blooming things closed again very dangerous.
Towels well that's using the words loosely ha! Ha! You could see threw them, very thin, not that we used them NO HOT WATER!!!!
Well after we laid down on our brick beds laughing so much our ides ached we nodded off out of exhaustion, woke and thought we were in prison lol
No hot water still, so we made our way to the delightful restaurant (NOT) where no one received us , some old mad woman rushed pass mumbling something in Greek I thought charming prob swearing at us( which I did learn a Greek swear word) lol
Well on entering the loosely word restaurant there where trays with plates, cup which you picked up and helped yourself to breakfast ha! Ha! Bloody hell!!!!
Cheese, luncheon meat dried up and curling at the edges, bread you could use as bricks it was so hard, coffee well dish water , orange juice was so watered down you could see thought it lol
Oh!!! By the food( well so called food) was a dirty, smelly dog yapping on a chair so close he could probly pinch food off table but I think he wouldn't cos it was so bad!! He was probly complaining to
We looked around to see if there was anybody to complain to or even ask about things but no one it's was like a ghost town. We ventured around to the pool area!! Well brochure pics looked stunning,,, eerrrrrrr big mistake, dirty , green slim, loads of bugs in it hasn't been cleaned in ages discussing.cats everywhere, stunk of cat pee and poo everywhere lovely!!!
We waited a few hr to see anybody nope still no body.
So we ventured down to the seafront where we looked at an apartment and had to rent that, went back to smelly hotel picked up our luggage, and made our escape whistling the Great Escape song do do da da da da da,,
I hate to think what we would have picked up in that hotel,
This hotel is not for the faint hearted,
Do not go there with families
Do not go there as a couple
Do not go there solo
Do not go there ever
It's was an experience ill never forget, luckily we were touch enough to laugh about it
Going to try and get my money back off Sun Master where we booked it from this is no way a star rated hotel
Faulty Towers/Colditz/Bates hotel all rolled into 1
A total nightmare, luckily we got to another place to stay, god help anyone else who didn't, mayb they never made it outta there

Room Tip: Do not go here

After dropping us off in the pitch dark in a potholed lane our coach driver pointed in the general direction and said your hotel is over there. We found our way eventually and to be fair at 4am there was no-one to greet us, just a note to tell us that the key was in our door - number 11. However, we were in for a shock on entering our room. The only redeeming factor was that the sheets were clean. The mattresses were made of some sort of thick heavy rubber material which didn't even move when we lay down but by this time we were so exhausted that we did manage a couple of hours sleep. There was ONE plug socket in the whole room - completely inadequate, and the "air-conditioning" that the hotel description had proudly boasted was a rusty old fan - incidentally on the opposite side of the room from the precious plug?? A noisy fridge was a foot away from my bed and the décor left a lot to be desired. Shutters were rusty, only one curtain at each window, none of the three tiny drawers opened without yanking on them, a wardrobe - and I use that word loosely - was in the little hall leading to the shower room and the shower room was their piece de resistance!!!! The tap on the sink was angled in such a way that it pointed straight out and soaked me when I turned it on to brush my teeth. The shower tray itself was disgusting with three huge cracks and obviously years of dirt embedded in them and the tap control was coated in rust. The shower curtain was so old that it had gone stiff and didn't go round the shower tray. Even if we had ventured in to have a shower there was no hot water, either in the early hours when we arrived or when we woke up a couple of hours later. The final joke was the toilet itself!! No toilet paper (luckily we bought our own) just the cardboard tube dangling insultingly off the holder. The toilet seat itself was angled and attached in such a way that as soon as you stood up it slammed down behind you. Really annoying and unhygienic to say the least ........ A hand written scribble stated that breakfast would be served between 7.30 and 9.30 so we thought we would go to eat and maybe things would seem better. No chance. We went in to the dining room which was reasonably pleasant and looked clean if old fashioned. Still nobody had greeted us, and we would have thought that by now the owner would have spotted two newcomers and come across to ask us if everything was alright with our room!! Instead of that we stood there like a couple of lemons trying to work out where cutlery, plates etc were. Finally a German lady vaguely pointed in the direction of the laid tables which had little trays on them and we realised that we would have to take a tray and help ourselves. Breakfast consisted of brown dishwater which I assume was supposed to be coffee, powdery tasting orange squash, curled up bread which was under a paper sheet, sliced cheese and some sort of cold meat. As we had no intention of sitting on the novelty toilet for a week we avoided everything. Having no idea what the owner looked like and there being several men in and out of the dining room we waited for about half an hour to see if we could possibly change rooms. The room gradually emptied until we were the only ones sitting there. By this time we had lost patience and were beginning to regret reading the glowing reviews that we had seen on Trip Advisor before we had decided to book!! We wandered round to look at the pool but even that was coated in a dark green scum all the way round the water line. We then made a decision and whistling the theme tune from "The Great Escape" - well we had to laugh otherwise we would have cried - we put the few things we had unpacked back into our suitcases and just walked out. Yes, yes, I can hear you all cry that it was cheap and you "get what you pay for" but I have to say that we didn't get anything. ALL we wanted was a clean room to sleep in at night, somewhere to have a shower and we didn't even get those. I have no comment to make on the evening meal as we never ate there. On our experience though I wouldn't recommend anyone to waste their money (albeit not much) on this place. We walked down towards the beach and found a beautiful hotel, with spotless rooms, fantastic pool and all for 10 euros more than we had paid for the Semeli Hotel!!!! The moral of my (sorry) long tail is don't believe everything you read.

Really didn't know what to expect when the coach dropped us off in the dark at 2am, found our room, opened the shutters, the heat was stifling, soon cooled down and we drifted off listening to the sounds of the waves on the nearby beach! simply beautiful, as was our weeks stay there! Nikos and his lovely mum were very sweet and genuine, the home cooked food We couldn't fault! we hired a car out but it sat dormant for most of our stay outside the hotel as we found ourselves longing to get back to laze around the beautiful hotel pool! always sunbeds available, so peaceful just lying there reading a book and re charging the batteries! listening to the wind chimes on the soft breeze, pure bliss! this hotel is in an ideal setting between two towns, and a stones throw from the shore! couldn't fault it! not often I want to return to a place twice, but we definitely would come back here!

Room Tip: ask for a room with air conditioning as not all have it in them!

Situated just outside the main town - less than 10 minutes walk. Food was excellent and the setting was lovely as it was far enough away from the noise of the town but close enough to walk there in less than 10 minutes. Polite service and great food and very well looked after,
One to stay at if you go to Roda.

Came back two days ago after a week here, turned up and no one was at reception the place seemed deserted! After a while Nikos turned up after being at the pool bar, we were showed to our rooms by a women and had two single beds, not something me and my boyfriend were expecting haha! The man Nikos speaks little but English but is very warm, the elder woman none at all but not a problem. We were the only English people there during our stay so very cultural and not in the slightest a tourist hotel. Breakfast was poor choice between stale bread mainly with jam, butter, honey, choc spread, tea, coffee and orange squash. Dinner there was three courses always starting with dry bread in a basket and a bowl of tomatoes usually veg soup for start. Main was a meat with a carbohydrate and only had veg 3 out of 7 meals, YOU DO NOT GET TO CHOOSE YOUR FOOD!!! Probably not suitable for vegetarians and all Greek food. 1 piece of fruit for dessert. Hot water limited. Beds/pillows/blankets uncomfortable. The room and bathroom was clean though! All rooms have balconies. TAKE INSECT REPELLENT! Nice pool, large for the hotels size you can watch the birds swoop down and eat the bugs from the water. 5 mins away from beach mountains one way, sea the other and in the distance over the sea are the mountains of what we thought were Greece. Stoney beach but walk further on to Roda and its all sand, bars, restraunts, shops that way too. Plenty of places to book excursions. Overall apart from the food and the beds lovely hotel, friendly. Lots of stray cats begging for food though. Was a nice experience but probably wouldn't go back there.

We visited Semeli in July and had a great time.
The hotel is ideally located between sand and stone beaches. A small supermarket is around the corner as well as the "green bus line" can be easily reached.
The hotel is decent and the owners are warm and kind-hearted.
Each day we were looking forward to what was on the menu for diner.
The diners are traditional greek and three courses, we loved it!
On the downside the rooms had thin walls and you are able to hear a lot (on the other hand in our case the other visitors were quite people not making a lot of noise), and the only relevant area for improvement is the bathroom. This was a bit outdated and smelly
This is a great place to relax and enjoy a great Corfu holiday!
Would certainly visit hotel Semeli again when visiting Corfu!

Nice small family run hotel, quiet, friendly & helpful owners, pretty garden, nice dining terrace, well maintained pool area for size of hotel, very local to beach but away from hustle of tourist area. Good balconies to rooms, some with mountain and sea glimpses. Hairdryer, and fridge in rooms, bed comfortable. Room clean. Downside...poor noise insulation between rooms; no morning hot water, breakfast poor (stale bread,no fruits, yogurt etc but hey), dinner food combinations bit odd sometimes and bit rushed, bar & TV reception area not welcoming .

Tips: shower by late afternoon / early evening; if you have valuables in your room during the day caution about leaving room key in reception as is often unattended. Wifi connection in reception/pool areas only and at certain times of day.

Holiday tips: make good use of some very good fish restaurants in the locality overlooking the sea, walk some distance either side of hotel til away from roadside to get to the nicest beach areas, lovely views to Albania, take plenty of mosquito precautions ! Day boat excursion from Kassiopi to Corfu town is excellent at 19Euros, can book in travel shop near hotel.

Room Tip: suggest first floor room to side for better views
