Roxanne and Tony are wonderful hosts. They took care of us and went out of their way to help us have a great trip. The hotel is beautiful, wonderful food, great rooms, excellent value. It is worth travelling to Salta just to be able to stay here (a short drive out of town in Chicoana). We didn't stay long enough to take cooking classes but I wish we had been able to.

The Bo Hotel is so much more than a boutique hotel near Salta, it is an oasis of impeccable service and attention to detail in an otherwise rugged environment. Situated about a half hour drive south of Salta it is the perfect place to rest between trips to Cafayate, Cachi and other parts of north western Argentina.
You can take a room with breakfast, or go for the package deal that includes all food and trips to some of the most unbelievable landscapes in this part of the world. We did the latter and I am so glad that we did. We stayed a week, and from the moment we were picked up at the airport by Tony, the co-owner, chef and guide, to the moment we were dropped back off, every little detail was taken care of. The hotel’s grounds are lovely, the rooms in the main house and garden are tastefully decorated and comfortable, the food fabulous and the trips, well all I can say is I’m glad I wasn’t doing the driving in some little rental car. Tony and his wife Roxana took care of us from morning till night.
Breakfast, usually in the garden, was a work of art, with local ingredients and homemade goodies and plenty of it, washed down with local juices and French pressed coffee. After that it was time to climb into the truck for the adventure of the day returning around 4 or 5pm. Tony or one of his guides will take you where the other tours go, but also where they do not go. It is comforting to be in a truck as rugged as the terrain as many routes include dirt/rock trails, that at sometimes of the year can be washed over by rains and mini rivers. But Tony and his guides have passed this way many times.
When you return from an adventure, it’s time for a little rest and a wash up and brush up before dinner, which is always a delight.
The couple has designed this program well, so that they intersperse shorter local trips between the long ones. Always very flexible, they will suggest what has worked for many of their guests in the past but their only concern is that your trip is all that you want it to be. Do whatever feels good, whether it is relaxing in the garden, taking cooking lessons or going for a ride.
Tony and Roxanna both speak fluent English, French and Spanish, having themselves lived and traveled in many parts of the world. I think it is this and a genuine desire to have happy guests is what makes it work so well. You will learn not only about the landscape of the region but also about life in this area as it is today, which for us was just as important.
In the end for us it was about seeing as much as we could, and having all, I mean all the details taken care of. It was bliss.

Tony and Roxana run a boutique Hotel & Spa, Bo Hotel de Encanto & Spa in Chicoana near to Salta. They are exceptional hosts, will make sure your stay is nothing but fabulous and really go the extra mile. We stayed on their package of six nights, seven days and were taken out each day to areas in and around Salta that we would never have found on our own. The horse riding was brilliant, the stone massage relaxing and each day was a new experience. Tony and Roxana provided three meals a day, a wonderful breakfast of whatever your heart desired, a picnic lunch when we were out and about and a delicious three course meal in the evening beautifully presented, not forgetting the regional wines to help things along. The rooms are spacious and decorated simply but tastefully, the grounds are groomed and full of fruit and other trees for shade and a pool for a swim on a hot day. The village of Chicoana is very quaint and charming and very welcoming to tourists. If you can't do the 7 day package at least visit for more than one night! It's fabulous.

Stayed at Bo for 3 nights and enjoyed every bit of it! Owners Tony and Roxana really are "the perfect hosts", as we had read in a previous post. Very friendly, generous, helpful and clearly taking pride AND joy in what they do.

They've designed and decorated the hotel with great taste and incredible detail, making for a very pleasant place to "come home to" after a long journey or, say, a daytrip to Cachi or Cafayate.

Rooms idem dito: spacious, well-furnished and again tastefully decorated, sporting a comfortable king-size bed, a good bathroom, and an inside AND outside sitting area looking out into the garden (plus all the little extras that one might expect).

The restaurant (only open to guests upon request so best to tell them in advance!!) is equally well decorated and combined with Tony and Roxana's delicious cooking makes for a great dining option.

Last but not least: breakfast! A definite highlight and in fact one of the best breakfasts I've had in ANY hotel incl. Sheraton and the likes -- with delicious home-made buns, scones and jams (a legacy of the gourmet bakery Tony and Roxana told us they used to run off the French Basque coast), finely-prepared fruit salad, juice, cereal, scrambled eggs (freshly made on demand!) and coffee served in a French "cafetière". Again everything stylishly ornamented with nice tableware and flowers straight from the garden.

Honestly can't think of any negatives -- simply a great place to stay!!
