This is worth doing. First of all, there is an educational component that gives a good overview of what mining was like in early 1900s. It also speaks to the medicinal uses and salt therapy which we are just beginning to recognize in the US. But, most of all, it is an amazing experience just because of size and depth alone. The only downside is that you must walk down (and then back up) 103 steps. It’s doable for an asthmatic, but you will need to take your time.
