“Cracking stay with superb climbing.”
Reviewed 19 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Stayed in Abdet for a long weekend of climbing and was blown away by the location and the hospitality not to mention the accomodation and the crags! Will definitely be back as soon as I can.

“Stunning weeks cycling in L'abet”
Reviewed 13 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

I have just returned from a fantastic weeks cycling in Abdet (April 2016) staying with Tom. If you enjoy cycling/trail running/walking/climbing, (basically the outdoors), this is a fantastic location to base yourself. The house is located in a typically Spanish village and has everything you need for a comfortable stay, with the bonus of stunning views from the roof terrace down the valley to Guadalest. Nothing better than enjoying a cold beer/glass of wine in the sunshine after a hard days cycling up and down the numerous mountains.

I was fortunate enough to go on a fully guided/catered week focussing on cycling with a mountain run thrown in on our rest day. Tom’s knowledge of the area is second to none which added to the experience and made sure we could always find a café con leche when we needed one! The area in general is superb for cycling, with smooth road surfaces, and refreshingly, the Spanish seem to respect cyclists and give plenty of room when passing. It was also very nice to be able to discard all the winter gear and enjoy cycling in just short sleeved top and shorts in pleasant temperatures. (Gilet required for the descents, as they’re long!!)

Obviously after a day out on the bike good food was important. Tom’s catering was excellent providing a variety of wholesome nutritious , home cooked meals

Overall I had a fantastic week that was made special by the fact that Tom adapted it to suit everyone. Given everything that was included the whole experience represented exceptional value for money and I would not hesitate to book again. Thanks Tom!

“mountain trail running and cyclocross combo week”
Reviewed 28 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Just spent an excellent week doing a mixture of trail running and cycling (off and on road). Tom and Penny supplied full board with excellent wholesome food with an emphasis on natural ingredients. warning despite the 25 hr of exercise I put on weight! There were 9 guests with a similar interest. Tom is able to suggest ideas to suit for walkers runners cyclists rockclimbing and combine them with the local history and flora and fauna. accommodation was comfortable, roof terrace in the sun for after the days exercise. Tom is also excellent at taking photos / videos- so many evenings were spent reviewing the days events and stories. highly recommend - great way to get some fitness in and beat the UK winter

“What's not to love?”
Reviewed 15 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We enjoyed a brilliant week in Abdet, a quiet mountain village, with a group of trail runners/cyclists/climbers. The accommodation is typically Spanish and was spacious and comfortable. The walking routes (recommended by Tom) scenery, food and company were amazing. The food was plentiful and delicious. It was a fun week and Tom & Penny were perfect hosts. We will be back for more.

“A simple and beautiful mountain retreat”
Reviewed 13 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Abdet is a high-quality house in a stunning location at the centre of a quiet mountain village. It's well equipped as a base for an activity break, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The surrounding mountains offer great scope for a range of activities and there's a real sense of peace and simplicity about the whole set-up. Highly recommended for the adventurous.

“Get away from it all in the mountains with a perfect host, guide and climate”
Reviewed 12 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Just had a truly wonderful week of running in the mountains around Abdet. This was my return visit after a week last November/December and I KNOW I'll be going back again. A totally unspoilt location with endless walks, runs, climbs and cycle rides on the door step, all guided as much you want by the perfect host, Tom Philips, who then cooks you a fabulous meal in the evening complete with all the wine you could wish for. Why go anywhere else? Thank you Tom. Another great holiday.

“Great trail running”
Reviewed 12 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Abdet is a lovely, peaceful village surrounded by mountains. Spacious accommodation with great views from the upper floors. Ran from the house three days and there seems to be no shortage of trails to do (I liked the long, high ridges best). The other two days we drove out for runs guided by the owner Tom who showed us some of the variety in the area. Excellent, warm sunny weather (in February). Can get chilly at night though so pack for all weathers.
