“Nice One Cyrille!”
Reviewed 24 May 2014

We were greeted at the door and taken up to our room by a very friendly young lady. The room, Lady Harriet, was huge. It had lovely views and loads of character through the furnishings. Absolutely immaculate.
We had a pre dinner drink in the lovely garden served by Paula, charming and efficient. We enjoyed an excellent dinner served by two first class young staff. The food was superb. I had a risotto which was just perfect, one of the best I've eaten. Everything was well presented, tasted great, and nothing was too much trouble. After our meal, we returned to the bar where we met Cyrille, our other host. Cyrille is originally from Brittany and we found him to be a very entertaining character. We had a good chat about Stonehenge and Cyrille showed us a lovely book of photographs of it.
After a good night's sleep, we enjoyed our breakfast before leaving to visit Stonehenge. We had a very enjoyable stay at this truly beautiful house tended by hosts with character and that personal touch. There is no doubt that we will return here. Nice one Cyrille (and Paula)!

We have stayed in many bed & breakfast places throughout the UK and Europe and this is undoubtedly the best we have ever stayed in. The welcome was friendly and helpful. The room was huge and spotlessly clean. As for the food, the menu choices and the quality of the food would put many top rated restaurants to shame. We stayed for three nights and shall surely be back again. Thank you!

Having looked at previous reviews we had high expectations.
Every thing was surpassed. A great full English breakfast was just superb.
But the evening meal even if you are staying it is advisable to book. Was first class.
Well prepared and served.
The staff at all times were friendly but not over attentive. Just first class.
Little extras such as guidebooks and worthwhile reading material in the rooms made its just that little bit special.

Room Tip: This is building is Grade II listed and can trace it's history back to the Domesday Book. The s...

We stayed in this great hotel for only one night (which was a shame). It is a lovely place and we were made to feel very welcome even before we stayed here (the email communication before our stay was second to none).

We arrived late-ish on a Friday night and left early on the Saturday but we able to have a meal at the restaurant in the hotel which served great food. In the morning as we were off early we were even offered an early breakfast to ensure that we were not leaving on an empty stomach.

We stayed in the "colonel" room and this was a nice size and had a really nice homely feel to it (so much so we felt bad for wearing shoes on the carpet) mixed with all the modern features you would expect.

I would recommend this to anyone.

Everything about our stay at this hotel was simply fantastic, from the cheery welcome, the huge room with roll-top bath and four-poster bed, the friendly ambiance, great staff and absolutely superb food. I'm trying to think of anything to criticise, but actually I can't come up with anything. I would suggest that they could maybe get some more upmarket wines on the list, but the one we had with dinner was perfectly lovely.
The best surprise was the bill; we had the room, pre-dinner drinks, an excellent three-course dinner with wine and a huge cooked breakfast for just over £200. If only all hotels could be like this one! I'd definitely stay here if I was in the area without a moment's hesitation.

Room Tip: Lord Cardigan - you know it makes sense.

Had a lovely meal out with a friend here. Good selection to choose from on the menu and we weren't disappointed with what came out. Staff were very friendly and efficient. We've been before and it always seems to be a very popular B&B for the German tourists and is always busy and hard to get a table. Would definitely recommend but you need to book.

After a 4 hour drive Rollestone Manor was the perfect rest place for us. Situated 1.5 miles from Stonehenge, the lovely little hotel, with only 7 bedrooms is full of history and comforts. We stayed in the 'Sir Nathaniel's' room which has two windows with lovely views over the gardens, large comfy bed and very powerful shower. We dined in the restaurant that although small had some of the best food we have eaten for a long time and we would highly recommend the plate of 'mini puddings'.
This is a friendly place with a family feel and is full of history. What a great find.
Tip: the stairs to the rooms are very narrow and steep, so would not be good for people who may struggle.
