I found a rate of 49 euros from the HRS online travel agency and, at that price, no complaints. The hotel is a bit odd; as has been mentioned before, it was apparently a rehabilitation facility at some points. It still feels a bit like that, especially the hotel bathrooms. Aside from this institutional feel, the hotel is good though. Nice pool, along with some other health facilities. Rooms are fairly spacious with a small sitting nook. Breakfast was good, with several hot selections and the usual German array of breads, cheeses, meets, yogurt, etc. Our room overlooked a hillside vineyard. Nearby (2 kilometer) Durbach offered several restaurants.

I visited this hotel with a group of friends and colleagues in November and I think it is worth mentioning how great it was. We stayed there about four nights, after an exhausting trip and many wuarrels with the travelling agency (not the hotel's fault). The hotel proved to be a wonderful surprise. Though it is quite far from any big city, especially Strasbourg which we were visiting, its luxuries and comforts had us overwhelmed. Large rooms facing the forest, breakfast A+ for quality and quantity and friendly staff. However, I think the experience was enhanced by my company and if I went there alone or with my girlfriend, it would not feel so nice at all.

Durbach can be rainy in September and then the outside becomes hard to notice and you have focus on the inside of your hotel. This one has a touch of Overlook hotel on it. It is very large, with long corridors that are dark and silent in the night. The rooms are large and functional. With maybe too functional bathrooms. The breakfast is not the best I had, also not the worst, functional also. We were in a conference there and the access to things like "bottled water" was scarce, the lunches and dinners were not wonderful, particularly bad were the desserts. On the other hand the staff was very nice.
The swimming pool and spa area were a bit small, in particular for such a number of rooms.
There's internet, you should be able to connect to your own room's wifi, however, it rarely works, neither the one of your room or the ones of the neighbors

I visited Durbach and Hotel VierJahreszeiten for a conference. The hotel does not look very good on the outside (big concrete block in the picturesque area of wineries and beautiful nature), but it is clean, has all the facilities you need and the staff is very friendly. I mean really great staff, that is the only reason why I gave 3 points. Because for the price range, you would expect clean rooms and the facilities, that is just a must. The rooms are ok, I was missing some drawers... literally not a single drawer in my room and I had to put all my stuff on a desk. The bed was comfortable, though. Food and wines were good. The hotel has a pool, sauna and wellness, but the pool was always full of kids or old people from the town or from the medical facility nearby. That is great to advertise pool, but you can use it for only 1 hour a day from 7pm to 8pm, which was by coincidence the conference dinner time. The sauna is by the pool, so basically the same story and the wellness was not included in the price, but I guess that was due to the conference package, so I cannot comment on that. I liked Durbach, but did not enjoyed all the things in this hotel.

This hotel/restaurant used to be a mother/child recuperation clinic. There is a lovely terrace for al fresco dining, and there a a number of rooms for conventions, as well as a very pleasant room, which serves as a restaurant. The only annoying thing is that the light bulbs in the lamps are extremely bright and blinding.
The food tasted great. The tapas were delicious, as was the asparagus wrapped in ham and a pancake, and served with Hollondaise. I can highly recommend this restaurant.

The rooms are spacious and reasonable. The double room has 2 separate rooms. It's a little out of the way but the bus leaves from out front about every hour. The staff are friendly & helpful. There's a nice bar downstairs.
