We stayed two nights at LInda Vista with another couple who had the honeymoon cottage. The view here is undeniably stunning. Our balcony view was filled with the volcano and the lake beyond. The staff were accomodating and helpful. HOWEVER, when our friends complained about the construction noise and the loud tv audio coming from the restaurant, the manager explained that the earthquake had heavily damaged the restaurant and the hotel. This was confirmed by the owner of a La Fortuna restaurant we visited. Hence, the early morning construction noise and the very limited menu. We are vegetarians who eat fish. They were out of tilapia so our only option was a disappointing spaghetti and we made do with a ham and cheese sandwich without the ham. Not good at all. The volcano is no longer emitting lava. Still the view was arresting. We all felt very bad for this family whose restaurant, we confirmed elsewhere, is known for it's views and good food but is compromised at the moment. Important to say that the management happily gave our friends their room for free the second night and provided them with free drinks. I would love to stay here when the damage is repaired and the restaurant restored as other reviews on this site give them good ratings and, again, the view is wonderful. But, given the prices they are charging, it is not a good value. Sorry.
