“Great staff”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

We had a rainy morning and visited the ecozoo. Staff are passionate about their animals and friendly. If it's quiet well worth doing with a tour as they'll let you hold the animals which was a unique experience!

Also a great hammock in the waiting area!

“Get to handle the animals”
Reviewed 20 April 2014 via mobile

This zoo only makes sense to visit if you love snakes and frogs. I do. When looking in the glassed enclosures at first, we didn't see anything. It takes some searching to see the camouflaged animals. Hiding in bamboo tubes, or under dry leaves. The guide uses a flashlight, which works very well to see them. Guides are available in English or Spanish.
The guide helped us to identify, via a picture we had taken, a venomous snake that had come into our home, and subsequently died.
Butterflies are an advertised feature. There was only one that I saw. The guide mentioned the reason, which I don't recall.
Best part, getting to handle a snake and a red eyed tree frog.
The guide put a glass frog on the window so we could see its insides.
Some animals are donations from those that had them as pets and for what ever reason needed to find them a new home.
I found it interesting to learn that they do a catch and release program. Even for venomous snakes. As they breed and acquire babies, they release the "extras" back into the eco-system.

“AWESOME tour!”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

Had such a great experience at this place! Very knowledgable tour guide who could answer every question I had...in English! They offer an amazing array of snakes (even poisonous!) and you get to hold some (non-poisonous!). Spiders and frogs and butterflies too. It was a great tour! But a bit expensive in my opinion...

“Fabulous experience, good value, lots of hands-on activities, free tour with guide”
Reviewed 2 April 2014

we had an excellent time on this tour. our tour guide spoke excellent English and really do the place well. Our son got to handle several snakes and a red eyed tree frog. The place was very clean it did not smell like mani reptile houses. Would highly recommend to anybody in the area.

“Great Guide!”
Reviewed 27 March 2014

We went with our family ranging from a three year old to two grandparents. Our guide, Carlos, was fantastic. He took a lot of time teaching us about different animals at the zoo. We got to hold a number of snakes and frogs too. (But don't worry if you are a little squeamish - no pressure from Carlos!) Definitely worth a visit.
