“Amazing view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2012

We had a great stay in the hotel which is a short drive away from the main town. The staff were very welcoming and great for organising tours et al. The breakfast and restaurant is also of a good quality.

Amazing views from the pool and restaurant, the only downside is that its a drive into town which costs unless you've got your own car.

Incredible views of Volcano Arenal and Lake Arenal. You won't believe your senses which are all fully awakened with incredible sights and sounds of the rainforest. The staff were really amazing, knowledgeable and friendly. This resort is close to the mountain and far from the city. It's a good thing the restaurant onsite was so good because a taxi into town would be about $50USD round-trip. This hotel was very clean and an easy place to relax. I had a massage on my private patio while looking out over the jungle canopy and delighting in the views of the volcano. Hard to beat! Meanwhile my family was off enjoying a horseback ride across the base and into the valley. The staff arranged white-water rafting for us the following day and a private van back to San Jose for our flight home. Nice pool, great food, big rooms, awesome views. Go for the great outdoors, NOT the nightlife!!!

Room Tip: If walking distance is an issue for you then ask for something close to the pool, reception area and...

We choose the hotel because of the remote location, we did not want to stay at La Fortuna because too touristy. We were not disappointed, the view is just amazing and room big enough for a family. The road to go there is not good but I have seen worst! Better have a 4x4.

We just got back from Costa Rice and our first hotel was Linda Vista, too bad it is raining season during this time of the year otherwise it could have been amazing view. I’ve to agree with previous reviewer, it’s very remote location. We drove from San Jose, so by the time we got there it was really dark and scary. Once we got to La Fortuna area, we were on unpaved road for about 12-15km to get to the hotel, and it was the longest 15km ever in the dark and bumpy road. So I don’t recommend going there after dark, and sunset around 5:30-6pm. Room is very basic, they do have Wi-Fi available, but no phone or microwave, the beds were kind of hard. But waken up with an amazing view, only if the cloud could stay away. During our 4 days there, we were able to see the volcano view once with some cloud. The rest of the time was just raining, thunderstorm and the cloud cover up the volcano. Brian was really helpful. Good thing, it’s really close to the Sky Adventures, so we did zip line and hiking through the rainforest. But you’ll need a car to get around.

Room Tip: Our room was 16 with great lake and volcano view.

the hotel is reasonably priced (though we were in the end of the season) and very well located .
there is a great view from the room, not all of them, so check before you get a room. the best water pressure we had in costa rica. the pool is great. too bad the wet bar was not active.
Arenal has not been active for at least a year, so be prepared.
our bed was a little squeaky. we took the mattress to the floor.

This was our first stop during our trip to Costa Rica and we couldn't have been happier. The hotel is approximately 18 km outside of La Fortuna, so depending on what you are looking for, keep that in mind. However, the hotel has everything you need; excellent food, a good bar, pool, hot tub, and an extremely friendly staff that was so helpful when we needed advise or recommendations. We woke up every morning to the site of Volcan Arenal as well as Lake Arenal. Because the hotel is on the side of a hill, there are numerous species of birds that you can see and hear at all times of the day. We were very sad to say goodbye to this amazing place.

Room Tip: Get a junior suite at least, they have the best views

Very very remote. Great for couples. Not to great for friends traveling. There is no internet service or phone service. No phones in the room and our t.v didn't work either. Godd thing we brought books and the good ol' iPod. Dirt road to town takes about 15 min. Should not be traveled at night. The water in room would go from really really hot to really really cold in a matter of seconds. They did send someone to fix it and it was good for about a day :( The view is amazing!!! Best in the area! Pool and Jacuzzi was nice.Food was ok. Bartender and dining room staff were very nice. One of the girls at the front desk wasn't so nice. The guy that was at the front desk was very very helpful. Make sure you check out the zip line tours and hike to the volcano! Was amazing!

Room Tip: Upgrade to stay near the pool.
